Great dinner experience! Outstanding service. Been there several times and it is always top notch. This evening was no different. Wednesdays nights filets are on special and half price bottles of wine. Tonight we had the filet and potato bites appetizer. Have also had the crab legs and lobster in the past and always delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant!

This was a pleasant experience for our anniversary but for the server never mentioned it or offered a dessert for our occasion. It was nicely written on the table which was a nice touch but nothing was ever mentioned. Kind of fell flat.
Other than that, food was tasty, atmosphere was superb, and our night was romantic.

I’ve always enjoyed Prime and have even left positive reviews before, so I was genuinely disappointed with my experience last night. We had a 7:30 pm reservation and were seated right away. The hostess was friendly, our server was attentive, and our food arrived promptly. Unfortunately, both steaks were chewy, lacked flavor, and didn’t come close to the good Steak ive had here in the past.

The part that truly soured the evening was how the end of our meal was handled. While we were still eating dessert, the entire atmosphere shifted in a way that made it feel like they wanted us gone. They turned on all the bright overhead lights, instantly killing the ambiance. Staff began vacuuming around the dining area, creating noise that made it impossible to relax or enjoy the last part of our meal. The back door kept being opened and closed, and since we were seated near it, I was freezing. It felt less like we were finishing a nice dinner and more like we were in the way of closing procedures.

What made it even more frustrating was that this all happened at 9:15 pm, even though the posted hours say they don’t close until 10. For a $300 dinner, being rushed out like that felt incredibly unprofessional and honestly a bit disrespectful. It completely overshadowed the rest of the evening.

Wasn’t expecting this to be a 5 star experience
1 Great service/friendly staff
2 Great cozy atmosphere
3 food was fresh, seasoned, and amazing
My lamb chops were seasoned, the bread was fresh n hot w/ garlic butter, the ribeye my fiance had was cooked to perfection, the drinks were on point! We were definitely pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We frequent “topnotch” steakhouses dtwn all the time and this definitely is a hidden gem
(Also carrot cake was delectable)

My husband and I decided to go to Prime for the 1st time tonight for dinner. We brought our 13 month old, hoping that she would not be super fussy. Well, by the time our salad came out she got fussy. The staff and waiters/waitresses were more than great with our fussy baby girl, come to mention even the other guests who were dining there were so understanding. One of the ladies brought her some packets of sugar to keep her entertained while we tried to eat our delicious dinner. She was entertained for a little bit. They went above and beyond to help us so that we could eat our dinner.

We haven’t gone out for a long while due to our baby girl, we can always expect the unexpected lol

Thank you to the staff at Prime who tried their absolute best to help us with our baby girl. We will definitely be coming again, when we find a babysitter.

Absolutely phenomenal. I had the surf and turf burger, and that was probably top 3 best burger I’ve ever had. I will go back. Highly recommend.

Would get a 5-star review but they add a surcharge to any bill paid with a credit card, and that is always an automatic minus 2 stars with me. No exception. Which is unfortunate because I had an absolutely top notch experience

My dad and I like to get together to catch up a couple times a year, just us. We decided on Prime. We’re lifelong residents of CP and have have had many great experiences with this restaurant-so we decided this was the place for our outing. We reserved a table ahead of time. Arrived about 5 min early and the hostess immediately took us to our table. The waitress was exceptional. She had a great sense of humor, recommended an amazing red wine and was attentive and very pleasant. I noticed that she went out of her way to make sure not to interrupt our conversations. The ambiance was perfect. The table settings, lighting and music playing in the background were truly thought out. The place was packed with happy patrons. The owner came around and took a moment to make sure things were going well at each table. I LOVE when a restaurant does that. It really shows how much they care about their establishment. The salad was fresh, the food was delicious.
I had a couple of questions about the history of the building, and the owner was eager to answer them with a warm smile on her face. It is one of our go-to restaurants and always will be.

Went for our 20th Anniversary last night. We were married in the court house so going back to the square in Crown Point is very magical for us. We’ve been to Prime before and enjoyed our meals. Last night was a different experience. Reservations were at 6:00 seated around 6:15 I was excited to be there so I didn’t mind. Seated right by the kitchen was disappointing but still trying to stay positive. I ordered the filet special and my husband ordered the bone in 28oz. Ribeye. He talked about it all week!!! Had a cocktail and appetizer which was nice. Still not happy watching the super busy servers in and out of the kitchen but trying to not let it bother me. THEN our food comes. She served me my medium rare filet and then served my husband a filet also. The look on his face said it all. She checked what she put in the computer and admitted her mistake and offered to reorder. He wasn’t happy but said no he didn’t want me eating my meal alone. Not only did he get the wrong steak but it was so tough and chewy. I felt awful!! I offered my filet so we switched. He said it was better than his but not much flavor! I had to agree. I couldn’t overlook this and stay positive any longer. Super disappointed and bummed. I don’t think we will ever go back!

For a second year in a row, I made reservations for my annual birthday dinner. Just a group of 4 women getting together to celebrate another year. Unfortunately this will be our last year visiting this restaurant. The service we received from the owner was less than desirable. We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and was told we would have to wait since we were 30 minutes late for a 6pm reservation. Confused, I pulled up the reservation confirmation text from the restaurant and showed the lady at the front as well as the owner. The owner shrugged her shoulders and said that not what we have. I looked at the paper list they had and pointed to my name and they had written in 6pm instead of 6:30. I told them I’m not sure why, but I have the confirmation in text.
I asked the young lady at the front how long and she said she wasn’t sure, maybe 10-20 minutes. I asked what was the point of the reservation. I also let her know that I wasn’t upset with her, I just didn’t understand where the confusion came in. I asked the owner could we at least give them the birthday cake to keep in the kitchen and she made sure to let us know there was a cake fee. Considering the fact that our reservation was delayed due to their error, they could have not charged fee since we were inconvenienced.

My group began to wait in the small waiting area that they have along with maybe 6 other people, all waiting to be seated. There were so many people in the small space, they were lining up the stairs. Which in itself was a hazard. A couple of us decided to go upstairs to their other restaurant to utilize the bar while we waited. A couple of us also went to their enclosed outside area to wait. There was a heater present but it wasn’t even turned on. So we joined the other ladies upstairs at the bar. Making the best out of the situation we enjoyed drinks and sushi while we waited.

45 minutes past our reservation time, the hostess came to tell us our table was ready. I immediately went down stairs and stood at the hostess stand. She seated two other parties while I stood there waiting. The owner then came over and I let her know that the hostess had said our table was ready. They both at the same time said it was ready and pointed to a table by the window. No one walked me to the table. They didn’t even give me menus. Which I felt was weird considering I had just watched her seat other tables by walking them to their table with menus in hand.

I sat and waited for another 20 minutes before our waitress came over. Kelli was amazing, attentive and very apologetic for something that was out of her control. She noticed we didn’t have menus and went to get some for us.

Our actual dinner experience was great. Our waitress Kelli made my birthday dinner enjoyable.

The lack of accountability from the beginning is what disturbed us. The hostess stand is a very important role to have and it was very unfortunate that the hostess was not knowledgeable in her own. At no fault of her own, it seemed as if she was new and had not received the proper training. During a busy season such as the holidays someone should have been with her to help her answer questions instead of her having to find someone each time we needed information. When we were finally seated, I asked for the manager on shift and that is when I was told that the older lady I had been speaking to whom I assumed was a manager was in fact the owner. That was surprising considering the treatment she was giving.

Having a birthday during the holiday season has prepared me for wait times and having to make early accommodations for dinner. But I was not prepared for the lack of accountability that was shown and from the owner at that.

While my family and I have patronized Prime Steakhouse and Theo’s over the years, this will be our last season. Thankfully we had a phenomenal waitress and that I have amazing friends who worked double time to ensure that I enjoyed my birthday dinner but the experience should not have been ruined in the beginning by the owner to begin with.
