Excellent! I live in Webster, but work for a company based out of Cincinnati, OH… I periodically have out-of-town colleagues come to Rochester and I always take them to Prime. The food is top-notch, the atmosphere/decor is great and the service has always been excellent. I’ve been to Prime 5 or 6 times now and I/we have never been disappointed. In fact, we have friends in town from Virginia and will be taking them there tonight. As other reviews eluded to… it is a bit pricey.

My husband and I went to Prime for dinner tonight. It was our first visit since the restaurant changed ownership and reopened. Everything was amazing from our food, to the drinks, to the service. Compliments to the chef for a spot on meal! Our server, Kim, was also delightful and so kind. We are truly looking forward to going back for more soon!

For over 20 years, my 4 siblings and myself have been treated to Christmas eve dinner by our Mother. We have dined at many upscale establishments and returned to many throughout the years.
Our Mother passed away earlier this year and we decided to continue our tradition in her honor.
We chose to dine at Prime mostly because it was closer to the hotel that some of us were staying at.
There was plenty of street parking and the restaurant is Handicapped accessible. The atmosphere was very nice. We were greeted warmly and promptly seated in a mostly empty dining room which seemed odd since every year prior to this, all the other restaurants had been filled to capacity. A couple other parties did arrive later.
Our server was excellent! She was friendly, very knowledgeable, and when we asked if we could make a couple of portion changes, she had it executed perfectly.
My sister and I always share a Calamari appetizer and we ordered it with a simple marinara. It would have been one of the best we’ve had but it was oddly salty. Two of us ordered the NY Strip, two ordered the Filet, and one had the Shrimp and Scallops. All of our entrees were plated beautifully and the food looked delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked to our liking and was good. It would have been very good except they were all heavily salted. Normally, a couple of us would have said something but this was a special occasion and we did not want to spoil the moment.
Four out of the five of us spent Christmas day with water bottles in our hands, still trying to quench our thirst from the excessive salt. Some of us who live in the area might return and ask for no salt if they do.

Everything was a disappointment. Our order was messed up and rather then redoing it they tried to just clean off my steak. The calamari was so so. For the price I can think of dozens of better alternatives.

Waaaay overpriced for a “decent” filet. We were sat so close to others, we had a hard time keeping conversation between us. decor was great. Service was great. We prefer hedges or black and blue to prime though. Sorry 🙁

I don’t want to beat a dead horse, so I’ll simply say. Good food at horrible prices. The $45 Porterhouse should have been life changing, it was average at best.
