Come in expecting a loud and busy atmosphere not quiet and cozy. Such an excellent location for this steakhouse right on the Green so one can get a really good steak without having to head into New Haven. The cocktail menu is fun and the drinks were very well crafted. We’ll be back for more. A table for two isn’t so big, no shame in downsizing the dinner plates they are big enough for 2 meals.

I will try not to make this a book…first of all we loved the aviance and the clientele….drinks amazing, no annoying measured pours!!!! You are not rushed out of your bar seat! The food was off the charts…omg…fabulous! Pics should tell it all and MAJOR shout out to Lisa and Christan ..we so loved them! Really friendly, welcoming, warm, fun, and made our evening the best! We can’t wait to go back because we could not decide on what to eat! This is our new favorite place!!! We eat out just about every Saturday night (date night) and have hit all the best places on the shoreline, New Haven, Mystic, Old Saybrook, to Fairfield and inbetween so we think we know what’s good, of course a matter of opinion but Prime is A+ in our books!

Look. We’re just as surprised as the rest of you that Guilford, CT not only has a spot like Prime on Whitfield, but that people are supporting it. Enthusiastically. Guilford has clearly changed. For a long time (and I’m talking 30 years that I am personally aware of) there was no food scene of any kind in Guilford. It was almost like the “anti food” town. As if the town was proud to have zero to terrible dining out options and even a very sad grocery store.

Excellent lunch at this unique spot. The service was exceptional to navigate a large and tempting menu. Everything we had was delicious, minus some unripened mango in the Prime Salad. We will definitely return.

Service was excellent. Food was also great. My wife and I went on Sunday and both ordered the prix fixe lunch. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back. Lobster chowder was probably our standout. Only downside, vegetables that came with the steak were supposed to be roasted, per the menu, but definitely tasted and looked microwaved or steamed? No sign at all of being roasted. They took away from the meal for me. Being nitpicky I suppose but otherwise great time!

Prime is one of our favorite spots on the shoreline. The food and drinks are great from the salads to the apps and steaks. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Kristen’s drinks particularly stand out. She is a magician behind the bar. Tell her what flavors you like and she will make the best dessert drink you have ever had!

Too noisy because of hardwood floors. No bread served. No way to mop up juices from steak. Or just if you like crusty French bread with your meal. Steaks cooked perfectly. Best time to go is 9:00 PM. Americans eat early and are gone by then
