We recently visited this new steakhouse for dinner and had mixed feelings about the experience.
Service:
Unfortunately, the customer service got things off to a rough start. When we entered, the hostesses did not greet us or smile and appeared cold and unwelcoming, which immediately set the tone. Our waiter also fell short of expectations. There was no introduction, no specials or recommendations, and my drink order (a glass of wine) was forgotten entirely. By the time our food arrived, I asked him to cancel it.
Food:
The presentation was mostly nice, though the soup bowl looked messy. I ordered the ribeye, which was well seasoned and very good. My husband ordered the NY strip and felt it lacked seasoning, likely due to how thick it was cut. Dessert was disappointing — the crème brûlée was very thick, not creamy, and lacked sweetness and flavor compared to others we’ve had elsewhere.
Overall:
What truly impacted our experience was the lack of customer service. Earlier that same day, we dined at Mission BBQ and the difference in service was night and day. Their team was warm, attentive, and welcoming — something we value greatly when dining out.
We may give this restaurant another chance since they are newly opened, but for us, two things determine whether we return: customer service and food. Both still need improvement here.
To start with the positives, the staff was friendly and polite. The restaurant itself was clean and had an upscale vibe that matched what you’d expect walking in. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the atmosphere — or the $272 bill (including a 20% tip).
We ordered two ribeye steaks along with a $16 mac and cheese and $16 Brussels sprouts. The mac and cheese was completely flavorless — I’ve honestly had better from a Walmart box. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked and lacked the quality you’d expect from a high-end restaurant.
The ribeyes were cooked to the correct temperature, but the flavor just wasn’t there. Neither steak tasted like a $60 cut. My wife’s ribeye was at least 40% fat, which was disappointing. My cut had a better fat ratio, but still lacked seasoning and depth of flavor.
What really left a bad taste was being charged $28 for “compound butter.” It was presented as a table-side torching experience, but it felt awkward and the butter barely melted. I assumed it was included as part of the steak presentation, but it turned out to be a separate charge. That felt misleading.
We also ordered the “cow bites” appetizer, which tasted like bland, breaded cubed steak — again nowhere near the quality the price suggested. My wife ordered two drinks from the bar, and both were underwhelming considering what they cost.
I understand this is a new restaurant and maybe they’re working through growing pains. But at this price point, the food and overall experience need to match the cost. In our opinion, it simply wasn’t worth it.
I hate to say it, but for a once-a-year special dinner like Valentine’s Day, we would have been much happier at Texas Roadhouse or LongHorn.
Hopefully they improve, but based on our experience, we won’t be returning.
