Reviews
The ambience of Prime 115, is of a high class type restaurant.
We were promptly greeted by two of the sweetest, most warm welcoming, politest, with very nice smiles, young ladies Ms. Cat, hostess, and Ms. Stephanie, waitress. Ms.
Cat led us to a booth and us feel very comfortable.
Prime 115, is very elegant, neat, very clean and well organized established restaurant and especially quiet.
To our surprise this restaurant has two floors upstairs and main floor with an elevator to assist customers who may not be able to climb stairs.
Ms. Stephanie, our waitress promptly served us water, and never rushed to place our orders. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. Ms. Stephanie, was truly awesome as she had several tables to attend to and she made each of her customers feel as they were highest priority.
We ordered the button mushrooms, as an appetizer thinking that they were going to be fried mushrooms. (apologies I forgot to take a picture.) The button mushrooms were baptized in Worcestershire (we called it worsesister)sauce with butter, for $12.00. To our surprise they were really good, albeit just a tad bit too salty.
After we finished our appetizer Ms. Stephanie, promptly arrived to take our order for our main meal.
Our eldest brother ordered the prime steak sandwich lunch which consisted of sliced tenderloin on a grilled sourdough, gargonzola, marinated tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and garlic aioli, with a side of their homemade potato chips for $19.00. The potato chip were well seasoned, crispy perfection very tasty. The prime steak sandwich, was well seasoned, cooked to perfection, very tasty all the trimmings worked well with the sandwich.
My youngest brother and I both opted to order the prime burger lunch which consisted of an 8oz wagyu patty, sharp cheddar, house berger sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles, with a side of their homemade potato chips, for $19.00. Our hamburgers were well cooked, seasoned perfectly, very tasty and the trimming of our burgers went well with our burgers. As stated previously the homemade chips were perfectly seasoned, and crispy.
As I saw it was our first time the6snd overall our experience was very pleasant. I hope you drop on in come say hello to Ms. Cat, and Ms. Stephanie stay for lunch or dinner whatever tickles your fancy.
Even the to-go boxes are hand-labeled with the dish and date — that kind of attention to detail says it all. I’ve eaten at some of the best restaurants in Vegas, New York, and LA, and I’m telling you — the steak here ranks right up there with them.
I now have standing reservations every single Saturday night. It’s that good. Completely worth the trip. Go out of your way to come here.
But our server, Marcella, was the star of the night. She was the kind of professional you don’t come across often anymore. Calm, confident, completely in control of her tables. She explained the menu like she’d written it herself, offered suggestions that were actually helpful, and checked in at the perfect times. You could tell she genuinely enjoys what she does because it shows in how she treats people. Nothing ever felt rushed, nothing ever felt forgotten. She made the whole experience feel smooth and effortless. Restaurants can have great food, but service like hers is what actually makes a night memorable.
Even the woman taking care of the water was impressive. She noticed everything. You take one sip, and somehow your glass is full again. Little details like that tell you how seriously this place takes service.
Now, the food—my steak was honestly one of the best I’ve had in 58 years of being picky about steaks. Perfect flavor, perfect temperature, and for the first time in I don’t know how long, I didn’t even think to ask for steak sauce. It didn’t need anything. The shrimp was excellent as well. My wife had the chicken piccata, and it was phenomenal.
This place made our trip to Waxahachie even better. If you’re visiting the area, don’t miss Prime 115. It’s worth every minute and every bite.
This review is well-earned. After a long hiatus from posting, I had to share the outstanding experience we had celebrating my father’s 80th birthday.
While the second-floor elevator was a helpful amenity, the staircase adds a lovely touch of elegance.
A True Gem in Waxahachie: Prime 115 is Excellence on a Plate!
If you are looking for a fine dining experience that truly elevates the Waxahachie culinary scene, look no further than Prime 115. This is not just dinner; it’s an event, from the moment you step inside the elegant, intimate space.
The Meal: Perfectly Executed
The menu is a sophisticated blend of classic steakhouse fare and innovative, refined dishes.
The Main Event: Steak – As expected from a premier steakhouse, the steaks are incredible. I highly recommend the Delmonico Ribeye. Cooked to a flawless medium-rare, the cut was beautifully marbled and incredibly tender, seasoned perfectly to let the quality of the beef shine.
Side Dish Highlight: Truffle Mac & Cheese – A decadent side that steals the show! Rich, creamy, and permeated with the luxurious aroma of black truffle butter. It’s the ultimate comfort food, refined.
Atmosphere & Service.
The ambiance is fantastic—elegant decor with beautiful lighting creates a cozy, yet upscale environment, perfect for a special date night or celebrating a milestone.
Bottom Line: Prime 115 delivers on its promise of top-shelf food and a slower, more sophisticated pace of dining. It’s an essential destination for anyone seeking high-quality cuisine in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex.
The staff attention was impeccable, highlighted by a personal visit from the General Manager personally came out to our table to ensure we were well taken care of, which was a wonderful touch.
Five stars—A Definitive “Must Dine Here.”
Have you already tried Prime 115?
If so, what was your favorite dish?
The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, and every ingredient in each dish was thoughtfully chosen. The quality of the steak was simply outstanding. Nothing on the plate felt random—the texture of the sun-dried tomatoes, the crisp and flavorful pickles, even the potato chips served with the burger—all of it was exceptional.
I even heard that the chips are hand-sliced and fried in-house, which speaks volumes about the owner’s dedication. You can truly feel the sincerity and pride in every small detail of this place.
Whether it’s a special occasion or a simple meal with loved ones, this restaurant offers an experience that’s hard to match.
We drove an hour to get here, and it was worth every minute. We will absolutely return—and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone.
Kids and adults alike will be delighted.
I honestly hope no one misses out on discovering the taste of this place.
Prime 115 absolutely blew us away with their Wild Game Dinner & Whiskey Tasting! Every course was fresh, flavorful, and paired so thoughtfully with whiskey that you could taste how perfectly they complemented each other. The evening started with a crispy fried quail paired with Pops blended Canadian Whiskey — light, juicy, a slight kick of heat balanced with just the right touch of smoky sweetness.
Then came a mini duck confit taco with Gran Maizal, which was tender, rich, and brightened with citrus and pickled radish. It was perfectly balanced by Gran Maizal’s toasty corn sweetness and spice.
The venison pappardelle with Amrut Fusion was hearty, comforting, and paired so beautifully that each bite melted into the next sip. The whiskey essentially lifted and deepened the flavors at the same time.
Then came the showstopper—a medium-rare elk loin served with grilled rib bone, roasted carrots, and a blackberry gastrique. The elk was tender, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. Paired with Baller American Single Malt, the whiskey’s dry, crisp style cut through the richness of the meat, while its subtle smoky and umami notes played beautifully against the sweetness of the blackberry. The result was an elevated harmony of flavors—refined, balanced, and unforgettable.
To end, the warm date cake was made from scratch at the restaurant with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce paired with Bladnoch. It was the perfect finishing touch. Sweet, smooth, and elegant, it wrapped up the night flawlessly.
On top of the food, the ambiance was incredible. A live singer performing Frank Sinatra classics gave the evening such a warm, nostalgic, and upscale feel.
We’ve always loved Prime 115 for their regular menu, but this event was truly next level. It’s one of those dinners that leaves you thinking about it long after—and we’ve already signed up for the next one! And we can’t wait.
Thank you Prime 115 for always providing the most upscale, top of the notch experience for us.
1. Service
Service was awkward and did not match the elevated experience we hoped to get.
We received no steak knives when the steak came out and had to ask. We watched our neighboring table getting the pepper mill treatment, we never saw a pepper mill.
I know. Small stuff. But important.
When the server introduced herself, she added how she would like to be called, which was odd. When my friend asked her to talk some more about the menu, she could not really think of anything to say.
2.Food
The wedge salad was great. The rest, forgettable. My steak was overcooked, my friend’s undercooked.
Yes, we were given an apology and the option to receive new steaks. We opted for a free dessert instead.
I ordered a Creme Brûlée for 13$.
It was the absolute low point of my dining experience. Here it goes:
DON’T PUT WHIP CREAM AND FRUIT ON A CREME BRULEE!!!! It does not go on there!!’
It turns a good dessert into a disaster!!!
Let me explain: Folks order the Creme Brulee for a reason. They really enjoy the caramelized HARD sugar shell on top of the custard. That’s why they want it. For the unique experience of breaking through the sugar shell to get to the custard.
You put whip cream on top? A whole thick layer!!! Why??
The sugar layer becomes soggy and melts into a sandy mess. I suspect it has been sitting like this for some time, several hours. It was not good. Please stop this. It makes no sense.
3.Ambience Fantastic. The old bank building is wonderful. We sat upstairs and listened to what we thought was a Frank Sinatra record.
We were surprised to find a young man, singing downstairs in the main dining room. He did a fantastic job, and has a lot of talent!!!
That was a very nice touch.
So please fix your issues. Most of them are small. Thanks.
Both of our steaks were disasters. I ordered a filet and it came out flat like a cheap sirloin. The server placed it in front of me and didn’t say anything. We asked her to come back to find out about the filet. She went and talked to someone and said there was a problem with the meat they got from the butcher and she said one customer before us enjoyed it. So she knew. I would have liked to have been given the option and a heads up. She did give us a $20 discount on my steak.
My husband ordered a NY strip cooked medium. It was horribly rare. He did not eat any of it and we brought it home to finish cooking. We did not want to ruin our evening even more by complaining a 2nd time.
Our drinks and the sides were very good, but we went there for the steaks. We passed on the complimentary dessert and will not be returning.
