Classic Pittsburgh experience you can’t skip.
We had dinner at Primanti Bros. and absolutely loved it. This place is pure Pittsburgh — simple, bold, and done right.
The sandwiches are legendary for a reason: piled high, fresh, filling, and full of flavor. Everything tastes honest and satisfying, exactly what you expect from a place with this kind of history and reputation.
The atmosphere is casual, lively, and welcoming — no pretentiousness, just great food and good energy. You feel like you’re eating where locals eat, and that’s always a good sign.
If you’re in Pittsburgh and want something iconic and delicious, Primanti Bros. is a must.

Definitely an improvement on their wings. I got the Lemon Pepper Dry Rub. The fries were kind of icky- old, hard, cold end bits, but I’m chalking it up to being a Monday night. Ordinary they are good. The bartender was friendly and attentive with a busy bar. My to-go pizza was not appealing. Maybe it’s just me, but I dont like char-blackened pizza.

French fries do not belong on a sandwich . There, now I got that out of the way. I always remembered Primanti Brothers from a PBS tv show called “Sandwiches you will love” from many years ago. I have checked a few off the show list already. So I was excited to try one here. What’s special is most all the sandwiches are just under $10, so a tremendous value. Even their location inside the Pittsburgh Airport has the same prices as all the other locations . I went with the pastrami version which comes standard with cheese, signature coleslaw, and fries all between Italian bread. I had a suspicion I’d be removing the fries after a few bites, but I wanted the full Primanti experience at first. I was very surprised to see the thick cut Italian bread is straight out of the bag without toasting or grilling. Then coupled with the fries that must’ve immediately turned mushy from the coleslaw, it made for an extremely dry sandwich. Unlike a Rueben, there wasn’t any condiment on the sandwich, so even after removing the soft french fries that had soaked up the moisture of the slaw, I was left with a chintzy amount of pastrami, cheese, and cabbage on these thick planks of dry bread. I couldn’t muster another bite so I just picked the few strands of pastrami off. I suppose if it was the depression era, and it was my only meal while working hard in the steel mill all day like their history states, I’d be more grateful for the carbs, starch, and protein. But today, I was very disappointed and left hungry.

This was our visit to a Primanti Brothers Restaurant and Bar location. Our waitress helped us with our questions about menu items. We ordered the Rueben and the Pitts-Burger. What wonderful selections! These are two fantastic sandwiches. Our order came quickly and tasted delicious.
It was a pleasing atmosphere. A well lit building with televisions around. A clean nice restaurant and I recommend stopping.
The picture with this review is a Pitts-Burger.

This place was recommended to try when visiting Pittsburgh. It was good. The menu was a little hard to understand, but our waitress helped walk us through it. I tried the italian sausage with cheese in a gluten free bun. It was good, but really just a sandwich with coleslaw and fries on it. The fries could’ve used a bit of salt. Honestly I would’ve preferred my sandwich with the fries and coleslaw on the side. The coke though was amazing and incredibly crispy.

Went to primates to eat enjoy some drinks and talk to manager to book a party for Christmas. Many open tables but took a bit to get seated. Asked to sit in bar area at a high top. They sat us in a completely different area. Asked to move to the bar area. They did accommodate. Ordered a drink and it took about 20 to 25 minutes to get. Place was empty. Ordered our meal and asked the waitress if we. Could talk to a manager. She went right to him. But he never came. Order a second drink and took another 25 minutes even though there were 3 bartenders. When she brought the drink she was walking away while saying sorry. I now understand why they were empty. It was a terrible experience. On one positive note kudos to the cooks my sandwich was excellent!

We ate here lastnight and we had to return in item that wasn’t cooked like it should have been. The manager and our server had the best customer service . There were 4 of us and were only expecting the item that was returned to be taken off the bill but the manager paid for the whole table! Not expected at all. This manager takes care of his customers and he came out twice speaking very genuinely to us. You can tell he cares about his customers! Would go back for sure!

I am not really into sandwiches but I am on a quest for good wings on the bone. Wow! The wings at Primanti’s in McIntyre square are amazing. Large, crisp, fresh juicy chicken; special tasting sauces including my favorite, Korean BBQ. You can’t fake real chicken. And these wings are never oily or greasy. Truly delicious!!!

Came to Pittsburgh for work, all the colleagues hyping up this place like it’s the (second) greatest thing on earth. It was only fine, at the end of the day it’s just a sandwich with a couple of fries. I had the Italian Sausage.
I think there should be far more fries, and enough that there’s a small pile as a side too. Maybe less coleslaw and more meat too.
The sandwiches look more impressive than they are. Overall I enjoyed the sandwich, but I wouldn’t hype it to the extent the locals do.
