Wife and I out on our date night stopped by prey and very much enjoyed the evening. The waitress was helpful and responsive. Tons of smiles and happy people here. The coconut fried shrimp was fantastic, the burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the tacos were super yummy. We will be back again soon.

Amazing! Is an understatement I come at least once a week here their happy hour specials are like no other! I’m sucker for a good smash burger and they have a delicious one for a great price! I want to give out a huge shout out to the staff and especially Luis for always being so attentive with us. Can’t get enough of this place if the food is great the service is even better… highly recommend to come check it out!

Prey is one of our go-to neighborhood spots and never disappoints. The staff is always awesome — friendly, welcoming, and consistent. The food is great, the cocktails are excellent, and the overall vibe is casual but lively.
They also have one of the best happy hours, with daily happy hour from 3-6 PM plus a late-night happy hour during the last hour of service. We definitely take advantage of both.
Some of our favorites: the smash burger, the tallow fries, and the chicken sandwich. Everything we’ve tried has been solid. Even the kids’ chicken fingers are great!
On top of that, all of their cocktails are consistently well-made. Whether we’re stopping in for a quick happy hour drink or a full meal, Prey always delivers. Highly recommend!

Mmmm not so much fam. I mean, probably top 5 restaurants in the area, but nothing I’d return to. Happy hour slightly worth it, but I wasn’t wowed over the beer selections and food was very mediocre. Cesar salad was very pretty but not good. The dressing was nasty. Water glasses (or the water) smelled horrible. The fries were too crispy and not hot , we ordered fries at happy hour and tried again during dinner. Spicy chicken was tasty, but too much bun for chicken ratio. Fold liked the smash burger, although the bacon was dry dry like it was cooked HOURS ago. The wings were okay. Blue cheese dressing was not. Tacos; the meat was good but cost was INSANE! $8/ taco and you can not mix for the deal price. Super disappointing. Every plate lacked food presentation. Place was clean. Nothing cute about the atmosphere. There is outdoor seating with fire pits. This place seems to be good for the taproom space, quick bite type. Came in on a Sunday evening. Happy hour 3-6pm taproom and patio only. On street parking.

Drinks were good and service was good. Food was good. Happy hour specials were on point. But I just can’t get over the price point. I’ve been in a couple times so far and I’m always blown away by how expensive it is. It’s not an upscale restaurant it’s a brewery/bar. This would definitely be a 4.5 range if the prices were better.

First time in Vista – shopping for bathroom fixtures. Asked the salesperson which nearby brewery was the best – she said, “Hands down, Prey.” She was not wrong. We missed the brunch menu by about 15 mins so I got the house salad expecting..well, a house salad. But the dressing made it “A Thing” – particularly with the grilled romaine and prosciutto. We paired it with the pork belly Mac & cheese plus the cantarito cocktail. I have to say it’s hard to be impressed by brewery food, but the chefs here are doing it right and so is the staff. Welcoming, fun and knowledgeable. Super fun surprise on a random Saturday “errand day”. Thank you, Prey!

Great food, beer, service and atmosphere. Met friends here for dinner and had a blast. Had a delicious cheese burger with egg, avocado, and bacon! Really enjoyed their Birthday Cake beer, very good. Drink it slow, 13% alcohol. Great vibe. Service was fantastic! We’ll be back.

Came in for a birthday dinner and decided to sit outside and enjoy the fire. Food was good and had a couple beers, but at some point our server was a no show. We had finished our drinks and were planning on a second round, but, by the time we finished our meal we wanted to close out. Another 10 minutes go by without anyone checking on us. We waited a while to see if we could close out, but since we were forgotten we went inside to ask for the check. Still nothing, so after yet some more time we took it upon ourselves to track the server down inside and pay up. Bummer cuz the vibe there was nice, but service sucked.

First time here but it won’t be the last. We happened in on happy hour and they’ve got great deals. We tried the truffle fries, tacos, pork belly mac and cheese and the smash burger. It was all great. Cocktails at the tabletop fireplaces out front were such a great addition to the ambiance. We had ppl circulating and checking on us . Great service, great food and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
