Pretty Little Tacos inside Politan Row Midtown did not disappoint! I got the shrimp and chicken birria tacos along with the trio dip — queso, salsa, and guacamole. The shrimp taco was so juicy and flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly moist. The queso came out hot and creamy, and both the salsa and guacamole tasted super fresh. Such a fun spot for a quick, flavorful bite in Midtown — I’d definitely come back to try more!

So I ordered three steak tacos… when I got my plate I immediately noticed the Birria sauce and the tacos looked like shredded meat. I’ve seen pictures of there regular steak tacos vs their steak birria. So I’m like she must’ve gave me the wrong order. I walked and I ask her to look and make sure this is steak tacos and she opened it and looked me dead in the eye and said this is steak tacos with our special salsa. The only reason they are still getting three stars is cause it was very good, I can’t lie. Best birria tacos I’ve ever had lol but she was still wrong for that .

This is located in Politan Row. I tried the shrimp birra tacos and they were not good. The shrimp had little flavor, it was greasy and the consume tasted like tomato sauce. My husband ended up just eating the shrimp out of them. I’m not saying don’t try it but try something other then the shrimp tacos.

I met the owner when I made unexpected late night visit a week or so ago. I ordered both tacos with onions and cilantro, one a chicken the other a beef. They were very good, although heavier in oil than I expect.

My partner and I ordered the OG tacos and taco salad bowl. The menu wasn’t fully explained, so the birria tacos didn’t come with consume. My taco bowl was not fresh. It seems like they pre-fry them. The tortillas for the tacos were stale like they had been sitting out. The steak in the taco bowl was not made fresh, we waited for our food for all of 15 minutes max and the food came out BARLEY lukewarm warm. We orders two shots of Don Julio but the shot glasses were dirty, the limes that were given presented old. All for $85. The service was very lackluster. There was more effort put into the design of the building vs the effort in the food.

TLTR: Do not recommend.

So disappointed don’t even know how to start off on a good note. I should have figured, given the <4-star reviews. But some places surprise you, so I wanted to give it a try.

The good: in a “combo” platter you get 4 tacos, nicely stuffed. It’s enough to fill you well. Though the tacos aren’t big, for small eaters, 2 tacos should be filling enough. But their idea of a combo is a joke, lol. To be explained.

I ordered “birria” tacos. As a summary intro, birria — traditionally made with goat, but in establishments, typically made with beef — is a slow cooked beef dish seasoned with a blend of spices. Once fully cooked, it looks like barbacoa. (For reference, it has the appearance of the shredded beef served in Chipotle.)

Birria tacos are prepared in corn tortillas, with cheese, and pressed on the griddle for a crunchy finish. Then it’s topped with cilantro and onions, and served with lime wedges and a bowl of consommé. The consommé is the broth that remains in the pot where the beef was slow cooked over hours.

I can’t begin to explain how good birria is when done right.

The bad: talk about false advertisement… I ordered “birria” tacos and what did I get? Steak tacos branded as “birria.” That was foul play. I would have consoled myself had they been tasty, but these were very unremarkable, basic tacos. Not well seasoned. Really, it was the onions and cilantro that made them edible for me. That’s sad. Got a piece of fat with each bite — not my thing.

The consommé? A little 6 ounce styrofoam cup — barely enough to gargle with it lol. And this, foodie friends, is what qualified the order as a “combo.” Wow.

Bottom line: Do not recommend.

The only saving grace of this place is the location — Politan Row @ Colony Square in Midtown ATL, which is a decent place to hang with different food options within feet of each other.

Ordered vegan tacos and regular nachos — both were good, nachos portion was very filling. Service was on the slow side. Located in a food hall with lots of open seating in an upscale atmosphere.

i spent about $17 on 3 chicken birria tacos. excellent service from kaya. i felt like the price was a bit high for the size of the tacos, but they were delicious. 4/5 stars only because they were smaller than i envisioned.
