There is nothing about this place that I would say or recommend for them to do to make it any better. This place has wonderful staff, the food is Superb. Not to mention the wait time from the time you walk in the door to being seated and being served flows flawlessly. Kudos to the owners And to their training staff because everybody we ran into the night we came in was wonderful.

We have had many people refer us to this location. Personally, I was highly disappointed. Steak lacked any flavor. Other food ordered was just average. The best thing ordered were the drinks, then I did not get a refill. Will not be back. Environment was nice, but that is not what we went for.

I would give them a five star review because we love their whiskey river bbq hamburgers and their steaks are pretty good too. But if you order a baked potato or any type of bread, they give you some horrible cheapo butter substitute with about 15 unhealthy ingredients in it that isn’t anything even close to butter. It’s horrible! I’ve never been to a high end steakhouse that doesn’t serve real butter, especially at the high end prices they charge. A big disappointment!!

We were nearby for a ghost hunt and had dinner here. First, the staff were awesome and the service was great. We felt so welcome. Second, the inside was the perfect cozy spot on a cold, misty, foggy night. The wood furniture and the fireplace had that lodge in the woods feel. Finally, the food was great. It was the team dinner, so everyone got to spend $30. The prices are pretty good unless you do a giant steak, so some struggled to hit that. But, we tried most of the appetizers. I really liked the fried mushrooms. Our ribeye was good. I’m pretty picky about steak and so I usually just cook my own. But, if I hadn’t been in public I’d have picked that bone up and gnawed the bits off of it. An overall outstanding experience.

Great foods. Great service. Dining room is screaming for some serious cleaning. Patrons judge the kitchen cleanliness based on the store front. Swiffer dusters can help with lighting fixtures and accessories.

Drove 2 hours to eat only to have 4 drinks poured on me. Half apology. So they cleaned the table while we waited and waited. Then we had to move tables. My 87 year old uncle fell and tore a chunk from his arm. No employee tried to help and NEVER asked if he was OK. I finally asked for a bandage since the napkins weren’t stopping the bleeding. I paid full price for my meal even though my steak was so tough and I was freezing from being soaked. Called the manager TWICE. Never even got an apology. I should have at least got a free appetizer or anything. None of this is our fault. Never again

The potato skins, fries and burger were great the steak had little to no taste at all. It took a long time to get the food. If you have plenty of time and just want a burger and fries it will be good.

Bad experience last time, but this time they have a new cook and I think new staff, as of October 2025.
I ordered a Whiskey River steak, okra, and mashed potatoes. The sides were perfect. The potatoes were thick and peppered, my favorite style. The steak wasn’t cooked to my order, but they quickly corrected it and it was delicious. Kinda small, but the thickness and good flavor makes up for it.
I’ve always loved this restaurant’s looks. Perfect for Big South Fork country.

Terrible food and terrible service! Breaded mushrooms were a tiny slice of mushroom covered in tons of breading. They tasted like flour and oil. We sat there with empty cups and uneaten mushrooms for 15 minutes before we finally gave up and left. Yes they still charged us for everything lol. Don’t waste your time if you like good food and good service.
