Overall it was an ok experience. I ordered a Honey Cinnamon Latte and it was delicious. We also ordered the BLT-C and it was good, needed something else like maybe a drizzle of honey or something, but still good. The staff was friendly enough, but took down the name I gave them wrong, so when they were calling it out of course I didn’t respond. The look I got from the Barista was not necessary, not my fault it was written down wrong. The bathroom was clean and the atmosphere was nice. There is plenty of seating and parking. There are 2 ways to enter the shop from the rear where there is alot of parking and from the front where there is parking along the side.

Prep Coffee in Matawan was such a cute little find. I got the iced Rainbow Cookie latte, and my boyfriend went for the iced Bananas Foster. They were perfectly sweet and had that creamy flavor that made me pause after the first sip.
I ordered the Jersey burrito and hash browns, and he had the blueberry ricotta toast. That toast honestly surprised me. The ricotta was so smooth, and the blueberries were super fresh with just the right touch of honey. I may or may not have stolen more than one bite. Before heading out, we of course had to try their pastries. We got chocolate chip cookies, which had the texture of bread rather than a cookie but it was still good and vanilla cupcakes with mable bacon frosting, it didn’t sound like it was gonna work flavor wise but it was really good.
The space is cozy and has a clean, local charm to it. Although, it could get really loud in there, quick. The service felt super genuine, like they actually cared. We just sat there, enjoying our food, our drinks, and the slow Saturday energy.
It’s one of those spots I’ll remember and want to come back to, not just for the coffee but for the whole feeling.

A long time ago my wife and I came in and the coffee tasted like mold…and this happened twice on two separate occasions. Then they closed down for a while. Then reopened, and I came back after a year and a half to see if anything’s changed. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, and the sitting areas are plentiful and comfortable enough. After getting the order incorrect, the coffee was served in a ceramic coffee cup. Plain, no love. Cold, just like the service. The young lady making coffee looks like she’s there because she has to be, and the coffee reflected this. No mold taste, but I can make better pour over at home, with foam art. If you are looking for an actual coffeehouse experience, I would recommend Candelaria Coffeehouse just down the road about 7 minutes. Have a great coffee day!

My partner and I go to prep about almost every week now and love it there. We see a lot of the same girls there working and one of the baristas, Beatrice, is literally the sweetest girl ever. She recognizes us every time and practically memorized our orders. She does a really good job at recommended things she thinks we’d like based on things we’ve had before and she makes a MEANNNNN matcha. We literally walk in hoping she’s working that day every time. If I could service 6 starts I would!!!!

So, I love coffee. To me, that means, you are willing to drink it in almost every form. Black, American, espresso, latte, cappuccino, nitro etc. Well, this place has several combinations i have NEVER tried.
The food, really good. Everything is made fresh, on site. Great Everything bagel too.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to Old Bridge in 2023. This is a great working area. I come in to get some work done with some delicious coffee. Everyone who works there is always nice and accommodating. I’ve also never had a bad pastry from Prep Coffee.

Loved the matcha drink I had here, and the new cookie I tried was amazing too (can’t remember the name, but it truly made my day!). Everything was fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. Will definitely be back.

The place used to be good. I think it’s depends on the barista. I’m making your drink but more often than not. The drinks can often times be too sweet or too sugary. Also, my barista dropped my cup on the floor and bounced around on the rim on the dirty floor, and I was served the same cup. Unfortunately, I don’t have it in me to request for a new one which again is my fault but still, I think the there should be some human decency to swap out the cup. Would go here again, but not my top five choice probably not even top 10.
