I’m a state employee and walked over here for the 1st time, for lunch. I hate to ever say anything about anywhere, but this was bad! I will NEVER return to spend any money here whatsoever. This was a turkey club sandwich, notice the literal “tiny pieces” of meat. This sandwich is mainly all bread and lettuce. Another co-worker had the same issue. Another ordered a burger and the meat was razor thin. For $15 total (ordered a drink too) there should be way more substance on this bread. What a waste of money. NEVER AGAIN. This appeared to be a black owned business and with that being said, coming from a person of color myself…. PLEASE DO BETTER! Then we wonder why blk owned anything gets a bad reputation for cutting corners on product and quality. For the same price or less, people can go less than 1 mile over to Jersey Mike’s subs, Subway, etc, and get way more protein on their sandwich.

Found out Premier Cakes opened a diner location at the museum and I had to try it out with some coworkers. The owner and staff were extremely efficient and friendly to my group as well as every customer I saw enter the diner. The burger and fries I ordered was excellent!!! Keep in mind it could take a few minutes as the food is cooked to order. I forgot to take a picture of the meal, because I was too excited to eat it.

If you are in the downtown area, be sure to check them out AND save room for dessert afterward! Such delicious options, but they do run out of things, so come early. Also check out the bakery location on Falls of the Neuse.

4.5/5 Stars: A Sweet Surprise at the North Carolina Museum – Premier Cakes Diner Review

During my recent visit to the North Carolina Museum, I stumbled upon the Premier Cakes Diner, a delightful eatery nestled within the museum’s walls. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I was excited to try their offerings and see if they lived up to the museum’s high standards.

Food Quality: 4.5/5

The Premier Cakes Diner boasts an impressive array of sweet treats, including custom cakes, cupcakes, and pastries. I opted for the lemon bars, which were tangy, sweet, and utterly delightful. The presentation was also impeccable, making for a great Instagram moment.

Ambiance: 4/5

The diner’s atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating and plenty of natural light. However, the space can feel a bit cramped during peak hours, making it difficult to navigate.

Service: 4.5/5

The staff at Premier Cakes Diner were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. They took the time to answer my questions and made recommendations based on my preferences.

Value: 4/5

While the prices at Premier Cakes Diner are slightly higher than average, the quality and presentation of the food make it well worth the investment.

Overall Experience: 4.5/5

In conclusion, the Premier Cakes Diner is a hidden gem within the North Carolina Museum. With its delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and excellent service, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Will I return? Absolutely! I’m already planning my next visit to try more of their scrumptious treats.

Delicious food! Came here to visit during bug fest 2023 and everything was so good. We dined in and ended up going back up to order another plate so we could have seconds. The owners and staff were very personable and professional. I would definitely come back here.

Too much for a cafeteria burger and a tiny bit of fries. The owner was also so cheap he wouldn’t give me another small paper tray to put ketchup on because “it costs him money”. Do not recommend
