The staff at the Bellevue location is extremely cold and unfriendly. Their cake “artist” is in need of severe training. My MIL picked this cake up for me as I got ready for my daughter’s first birthday. Had I been the one to pick this up, I would have refused it. I had asked for a “Winter ONEderland” theme – with white snowflakes and a few pink bows. I really don’t know how this bakery thought it was acceptable to put this out. Really a shame – when this was Lincoln Bakery, it was great. Will not be returning!!!!

Prantles in Bellevue (Lincoln Bakery)
Saturday morning, 915am, bought
~~a chocolate glazed donut and it was dry, hard, lacked taste. Icing was matte, hard, like it was made day before. $2.29
~~chocolate thumbprint cookie. Very dry & icing lacked chocolate flavor & left a very waxy feeling in the mouth. $2.99
~~burnt almond torte mini cake. Its a gift. Probably get 4 servings. $7.39
On top of the overpriced donut and cookie, an added $.44 “handling fee” was charged. Didn’t notice it until I was in my car. Assume it was for the box….
Want to support local businesses, but I’ve tried their baked goods aboit 10 times over the past 3 years. This is my last time. Giant Eagle has better chocolate glazed donuts and Orams donuts are sold at many places now. Shop & Save has fresh Paddy Cake donuts.l, Dudst’s in Wexford. Id rather spend the extra money and just go to Jean Marc’s Chatellier’s im Millvale.
We have so many better options.
And, the grumpiest ladies work there. Im not a fan of Prantles from Shadyside but had hopes they might improve the old Lincoln Bakery. No such luck. Still serving dry donuts just now with a handling fee.

This year, I decided to get a cake from Prantl’s for my husband. Not only did they have a great selection of cakes, but they had countless pastries to choose from, including paczkis. In addition to the selection of pastries, the team member I worked with was friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely visit again soon!

We went here to get a pre-made cake for my birthday, 2 cupcakes and a slice of cheesecake. I noticed the cupcakes were rock hard when I got them out of the container, so when I got home I put them in The microwave for 10 seconds, they softened but tasted like they had been sitting in the refrigerator every night and then put back out in the morning! The cheesecake cake was hard to cut through, tasted like wax, and was just nasty! It made my husbands stomach flip and had bad after taste! We didn’t even sing happy birthday or eat the cake we threw it away after tasting everything else!! Dont even want to imagine what that tastes like it’s probably been sitting in the fridge for 5 days!! What a waste of money! Safe to say we won’t be back!

I almost didn’t go in because it was a little dark and I didn’t see anyone but I’m so glad I did. I had time to look and decide what I wanted. The chocolate cream donut and the raspberry cream were beautiful and delicious. The dough was not gummy and the cream was perfect And didn’t leave a skim of fat in your mouth. The raspberry jelly was the the right consistency and none of it was too sweet

Every since me management came they changed their products. The batter isn’t the same I was very disappointed to drive 50mins and everything changed. Why change anything that’s not broken? I got my wedding cake from them years ago. I was able to freeze it and eat it the next year and it still tasted the same. Now it’s not even worth going way out there for. I was a faithful customer recommending them. Not any more

I am not pleased with the new ownership. This bakery was perfect before and now it is substandard.
I called to order a bday cake only to be routed to voicemail. I physically went in to order and the staff couldn’t give me a quote saying that she had to call the call center. She couldn’t get through.
Later I got a call from staff at the bakery (not the call center) and was told that they won’t bake the cake unless I paid first. Told her my experience. Then had to give my cc over the phone; had to repeat several times because she couldn’t hear. She was taking guidance from someone else.
I went to the website and did not see a “contact us” option.
This is the last time I will use that bakery.

The selection is not as strong as when it was Lincoln Bakery. The taste is not as good. I thought Prantl’s was going to maintain some of the bakery items that families have come to adore. I was disappointed with the holiday cookie tray I purchased today. I used to buy Lincoln’s cookie trays for family, friends, and work associates, and it was always a hit. We like Prantl’s almond torte, but other items have always been so-so. I’m sad to see the end to a community legacy.

Gave Prantl’s another shot after being disappointed the last time. Was let down again. Prices are not terrible, but definitely not cheap. Service was fine. However, the flavor of the pastries and donuts was poor/lacking. I am against throwing away purchased food, but the calories were not worth it. Will not be going back.

Lincoln Bakery will always hold a special place in my heart. They made the most beautiful, tasteful, and incredible wedding cake I have ever seen. My guests are still raving about how delicious the cake was. We had a white cake with raspberry filling and another layer that was marble with chocolate mousse filling. From the cake tasting to seeing the masterpiece on the day of the wedding it was above and beyond my dreams!
