This little bakery sits at the NPS Glen Echo Park site. It features drinks, sandwiches, and, of course, baked goods. I went with a pumpkin cookie and a lemon drop cookie – both amazing. Cost was $3 per cookie, so not the cheapest, but the quality was good and the location was magic. I was there at around 3, so there was not a lot of choices, but, again – those cookies were really good.

Two visits, two lessons: first time the coffee with milk barely tastes like there’s any milk in it.
Second visit: Learned our lesson! Bottled drinks only. But then… toddler wanted fizzy water *in a can*. I asked for one of the plentiful thin plastic cups. Denied! Apparently, these sacred vessels are reserved *only* for beer purchases. Because nothing says ‘family park refreshment’ like prioritizing suds over sippy-cup substitutes for preschoolers.
We’re happy to fund the park premium, but maybe throw the parents a cup? Literally?

I’ve been here twice— the first time, they had almost nothing offered on the menu and didn’t even have a knife to cut the sandwiches in half for us. The second time (today) there were teenagers working there and once again, no ice cream and a nearly empty pastry case. The sodas were $3… this place has an opportunity to really make some people happy and make some money doing it but… they’re just opting out. Free advice: they should move this to the candy shop space right by the entrance, it’ll get more attention.

Friendly staff but the people who come here are mostly families with kids. Kids generally won’t eat chicken salad sandwiches and Turkey and Brie. If you offered kid-friendly options like pizza and hot dogs, or more plain/simple lunch options, you’d make a lot of money!

I had no experience because after making a reservation on Resy for 2:45 and arriving at 2:45 on Valentine’s Day, my husband and I were first ignored on the lower level and then rudely turned away upstairs, stating that the restaurant was closed and my reservation was at 2:15. Assuming, it was changed by the Resy to 2:15, why would you close a restaurant 15min after the last reservation. Bottom line is the staff was extremely rude and on Valentine’s Day no less. They won’t have to worry about us patronizing or recommending their establishment in the future.

This has been our favorite bakery for years. Through the pandemic they offered curbside and phone orders that were a huge help. Definitely try the apple-walnut turnovers and the French onion soup.

Didn’t actually buy anything but once when I was chilling at the park I decided to go in to check it out and maybe buy some pastries. At the front desk there was this grumpy looking dude that just stared at me. I felt super awkward and left.

Very sad and disappoint place. There is absolutely nothing to buy. Empty shelves and broken coffee maker. Missed opportunity in such a great location.
