Er…..I misread the restaurant sign and spent the first hour calling this place, “Pradyummy”. I got some weird stares for a while until I finally saw the sign again and realized my mistake. But, like, you can’t deny it’s kind of fitting?

This place is where to get your South Indian/Chennai cuisine on. Gorge on their fluffy Sambar Dip Idly combo that comes with plenty of piping hot sambar. And if you’re with friends, don’t be afraid to share the veg-forward Banana Leaf Meal (no utensils, please) and the giant, crispy Onion Rava Masaala Dosa.

It doesn’t sound like much, but the three of us left stuffed. Portion sizes are as huge as the country itself. Come hungry.

Also, our main server was under 15. That’s how you know this place is legit.

Pradyumna Cafe in New Jersey is a fun and flavorful place to grab a bite, especially if you love Indian street food. The masala puri is genuinely tasty with bold spices and just the right amount of crunch and sauce. The rest of the menu has a nice variety of snacks and meals that feel fresh and satisfying. The cafe has a casual friendly vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your food. Service is warm and attentive which adds to the overall experience. If you’re in the mood for well-made Indian comfort food the masala puri alone is worth stopping by for.

This place serves food that feels like it’s straight from home, comforting, simple in the best way, and full of satisfaction. Every dish has that dash of authenticity you just don’t find in most restaurants around here. It’s refreshing to taste something truly different from the usual options in Jersey City.

We loved it so much the first time that we had to come back and the second visit was just as amazing! If you’re craving delicious food that reminds you of home, this is hands down the best spot in Jersey City. Highly recommend!!

Bangalore special masala dose is priced High and there was real good reason why. It tasted absolutely like our own Bengaluru taste. So kudos to the hotel for providing what they mentioned in the menu . They have mudde/ mudhe oota also and all authentic karnataka food. Must visit place for all karnataka food lovers.

I visited this South Indian restaurant on the recommendation of a friend from Bangalore—and I’m so glad I did!

The dosa was absolutely delicious—perfectly crisp with just the right balance of spice and flavor. Every bite tasted authentic and satisfying.

The service was warm and attentive, and the staff made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and clearly well-maintained, which added to the overall positive impression. Will definitely be coming back!

One of the best South Indian restaurants I have ever been to.

Service: good
Ambiance: average
Food: amazing

We loved it so much we went twice. First day we went for dinner. We ordered masala puri this was excellent. Spicy and savoury just how we like it. The only 2 things I world like to see is peanuts was missing. And the masala was so hot that the puri got soggy. So an upside down masala puri would be a great idea here.

Set dosa: amazing. Like the best set dosa I have ever had. And guess what! Looks like they don’t use soda! The chutney both peanut and coconut was good. The Sambar was amazing. The kurma/sagu was also very nice.

Bangalore masala dosa: amazing. Wonderful. Reminded me of home. The 2 things was the stuffing, palya was too much. And waaaaay to much ghee but amazing taste amazing flavour and again! No soda! Yay!!!

Gobi munchurian: taste and favour was very good. Is it exactly Bangalore style? Yea it has potential.

Second time we went it was for lunch. Ordered banana leaf meal. This was one of the best meals ever. Came with 2 chapati/phulkas. Wow. Just wow. Mossupu saaru was amazing. Horse gram palya very good. Sambar very good. Gobi palya good. Also came with bisibelebath this was also very good. Hapla and pickle were excellent. Highlight was the majjige and the mossopu saaru.

We loved the majjige so much we ordered another for take out.

Last item was the breakfast combo 1. Which came with a masala dosa. This was excellent. Idli was ok. Below average. It was dense and heavy and not fluffy and light. The Vada was bad. Very weird tasting and colour. Sambar and chutney was good. Upit was very good. But too much ghee. Was supposed to get keribath but they gave us sabudana paisa. When i asked about the kesari bath they said they had run out. Which should have been something they should have mentioned when we ordered.

Things to improve on: idli and vada needs improvement. Also the servers for some reason were always in the back. I understand it was Saturday and you might be busy. But someone needs be in the front at all times. There were people waiting to order and pay but no one to take the order or bring check. They had to right the bell.

I would definitely go here again. It’s very hard to find a good and I mean very good South Indian restaurant that makes excellent dosas without using soda. I just wish they were closer to central jersey or south jersey even! Please don’t lose the chef. Chef is excellent! The food tastes fresh and flavourful like what we make at home. If you cannot eat spicy food I would ask them before ordering what is not spicy. Evening was an excellent spicy level just how we like it.

Growing up in Jersey City there wasn’t a lot of South Indian Restaurants much less Karnataka cuisine so I was excited to try this restaurant. My favorite was their signature Bangalore Dosa. I never had anything like it! This one was crispy on the outside and fluffy and thick on the inside. I enjoyed the spicy earthy taste of the peanut chutney and how well it paired together. All the other dosas like the Mysore Masala Dosa were so buttery and light. My family and I also really enjoyed the pongal and appam. One of the things I love about this restaurant is that you can get Indian food specifically from Karnataka that you won’t get anywhere else such as raghi mulle and holige. The food is made fresh and with ghee and other ingredients straight from Bangalore!

Had been here for breakfast and it was amazing! The host was very friendly and even spoke to us in Kannada, which felt so welcoming since we’re from Karnataka. We tried Breakfast Combo 1 & 3 – the taste was authentic and reminded us of Bangalore-style food. They use fresh, homemade ingredients sourced from Karnataka, and you can really feel the difference. The Bisibele Bath and Dosa were the absolute highlights. Super filling and delicious breakfast!
