We had an absolutely wonderful experience at PP Thai Restaurant! The food was bursting with authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection by talented chef Joe Joe. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal. We especially loved from appetizers shrimp summer roll, chicken larb our main dish was lamb chops, pad sew ew noodles, papaya salad, beef larb. Highly recommend this gem to anyone craving delicious Thai cuisine. We’ll definitely be back!

This was a fantastic meal. Our waiter Anthony was absolutely wonderful and made recommendations for our meal. We had the pot stickers, pad thai and drunken noodles. All of which had very distinct flavors that all came together beautifully. We were regularly checked on throughout our meal and felt extremely welcomed and taken care of. We also had the mango sticky rice and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend making a visit here.

Update as of Aug 2025:

Another delicious meal at this lovely restaurant! (Formerly Nunthaporn but they haven’t had a chance to update the sign yet but the address and phone number are the same)

I asked Joe, the head chef, to surprise me with something off the menu (for now) and he came back with this DELICOUS dish:

1. Yum vun sen, a glass noodle salad with shrimp (if you want other protein, I am sure he can accommodate). This is a cold dish, like a salad, quite a favorite amongst Thai folks. The flavor is a mixture of savory/unami, lightly sweet, a little tart and the heat is made to order. This combination is the true foundation of most Thai Yums (salad) and boy, it was YUMMY!! (see what I did there?? lol). We almost licked the plate clean! If you want to try authentic Thai salads/Yums, ask for this item. The flavors is deeply unami and so refreshing!

We also had the following:

2. Seafood with pepper sauce (gluten free): baby scallop, mussels, shrimp, calamari, onion with the pepper sauce. The pepper sauce is made from scratch, gluten free and simmered for 4 hours. It was the best I have had! I was not too proud to not scraped the sauce onto my rice till it was practically clean!
2. Miso soup: flavor is on point!
3. Duck in curry sauce: slices of duck with a bed of diced pineapple, red and green peppers, and mushrooms. The sweet and sour of the veggies and mushrooms really paired well with the curry sauce and the succulent duck.
4. combo chicken and shrimp fried rice and it was delicious as well! It was moist, not greasy and flavors were on point with all the nice veggies

We finished the meal with a mango and coconut ice cream. The Mango is more a shebert and the coconut ice cream was creamy. Out of the two, I loved the coconut ice cream the best! I even asked for an extra scoop cuz I inhaled the first scoop in no time! lol

***As of July 2025: The BEST Thai cuisine in Mesa!!

I heard this place has changed hands with ownership so I decided to check it out. The new owner is a sweet, elegant Lao lady whose smiles are welcoming and kind and the young new chef is vibrant in personality and it shows in his dishes!

Location is right at the heart of downtown on Main street so there is plenty of parking available all around: In front of the store, parking lot in the back and adjacent to Main Street.

The vibes: The place is beautifully decorated with a mix elegance and Thai art prints, artifacts. Fine dining yet casual, fitting for families, couples and corporate gatherings.

The food is PHENOMENAL! The young chef learned from the best and has added his own touches to fusionized a few of his own creation that you will not find at other Thai restaurants: Keaw za (an appetizer with chicken, taro, water chestnut, and lemongrass with a delicious sauce with various spices the chef created) . Their Thai entrees are equally DELICIOUS, esp items that will soon be on the menu (but I was lucky to have tried) and then there are the chef’s signature desserts which are AMAZING:
1) pumpkin coconut sweet soup/pudding. The coconut liquid is buttery, sweet and decadent with pieces of pumpkin that are perfectly cooked.
2) Coconut gelato that’s specially made for this restaurant only.

The flavors are on point, better than most Thai restaurants, very authentic since the owner is Lao and the chef is Lao with Thai cuisine on his belt! My Lao wife who loves Thai food more than Lao food has also confirmed the flavors are delicious. lol

This place did not disappoint and you will leave wanting to come back for more! Come and give them a chance to wow you. You will find their food is not your typical find: It is traditional with a touch of modern fusion to enhance your taste buds. This place will have *many* upcoming items that will be added to the menu and they will blow other Thai restaurants out of the water! They plan to also add sushi and some other Japanese items to make it more interesting so you can have both Thai and Japanese in one place!!

A hidden gem! We are so glad we found this restaurant. I have nothing but good things to say the food was delicious, service was great and felt a warm welcome. I tried the drunken noodles with shrimp and Lamp Chops. They also have so many gluten friendly options. Highly recommend!

Delicious! Better even than before. My husband has been a loyal patron of the prior owner for years, and its always been our favorite thai restaurant. We were anxious about new ownership – but the new owners are related to the prior and the quality of the food was outstanding. Green curry is still a favorite. The rangoons are the best we have ever tried. I couldn’t even get a photo before they started disappearing lol. We will be back!

The food was amazing. I really enjoyed meeting the owner love my service you checked on me throughout the meal. A lot of Thai restaurants. You can’t expect the people to check on you here they check on you. I had green curry. It was amazing. It tasted very good. I got medium heat and it wasn’t over the top spice but it was like a little zing. I really enjoyed that. I love the rice that came with it and then I had the fresh rolls. Oh my God I highly recommend the shrimp rolls. it wasn’t here at the original place, but it is here with this place. I think this place is gonna do very well. The owner is super nice. She’s kind she’s you know it’s authentic she’s from Thailand so you don’t have to worry about American people making your Thai food if you’re looking for an authentic place where the food is super good and taste good and the qualities is good and you know it’s hot food not cold. You’ll really enjoy coming here. Please give this place a chance you would be disappointed. I highly recommend this place and I go to a lot of Thai places and this is at the top of my list. I will definitely be back.

We have been eating at this restaurant for years. And went the other day and notice that the atmosphere had changed. I asked the waiter, oh, you remodeled. He said, yes, we ordered our food, and it tastes nothing like the original food from nuntheporn i told my wife it was probably just a cook, but when we got the receipt, we noticed that it was a new restaurant. I do not recommend. I found a new Thai restaurant on the corner of power. And southern, which was five dollars cheaper per dish with twice the food and it was comparative to the old restaurant, do not recommend
