We’re Pour Choices Pub & Grub and we’re a bar and grill here in Oakland, IA. We owned a coffee shop for 10 years while raising our children. We wanted to expand so we bought a bar and grill in a neighboring town. It became a very popular establishment so we bought our second bar and grill and called it Pour Choices Pub & Grub. It’s like Cheers everyone knows your name! We’re looking forward to growing our business and partnering with Pottawattamie and Cass counties’ consumers to run all of our businesses successfully so our community has a good place to eat, drink and socialize. The most AMAZING pizza at Pour Choices!! Homemade buttery crust with Alfredo sauce, cream cheese, beef, and mushroom. Gooey cheesey goodness. Check them out and have the best pizza in southwest IA!!

This place is good. A little sad that they are getting rid of pork belly. They have so many great things on the menu. Had the pork belly fries and the triple pig burger. Both were amazing.
Drinks were good and the service was on point. Great place to hang for a while. Pool tables and games to have conversation and fun around.

Service was great.. Food, not so much. The pork loin burger is just an over fried pork chop. And the blooming onions and fried pickle fries would have had an amazing flavor but were maybe cooked too fast. Maybe a 1 time issue but I’m not from the area. This is based on one time.

Went there Monday evening around 5:30 for my husband’s birthday. Sat down, waited 25 minutes, no one working at the bar, no waitress waiting tables. There was another table of 8 there when we walked in, they also said that they hadn’t seen any staff there at all. Finally a patron at the bar got tired of waiting for a refill and got up, went out the back door and got a waitress from outside the bar. She came in, filled 2 drinks at the bar, and went back outside without anything but a glance at the customers waiting at the tables. We walked out and We’ll never go back. Bad service can ruin an otherwise good business. We drove there from Shelby. What a waste of time. I gave them 1 star because I had to in order to leave a review, otherwise it would have been a minus 5 stars for blatantly ignoring customers. Turns out it truly was a poor choice, they just spelled it wrong.

Nice atmosphere, fast and friendly service, food came out quickly and tasted great! We had the mac and cheese bites along with a couple different burgers and everything was delicious. We will definitely be coming back again soon!!!

I personally know the owners, they were excited to see the bar come to life with their vision, they have made it a very nice, clean, fun environment and great asset to the community. There menu is short and sweet, and if you haven’t had the jam burger you MUST because it is to dye for!
