We have welcoming dedicated staff who feel more like family and shelves lined with local products, our history is written into the walls.

So many large, beautiful pastries I had a hard time deciding what to get! Definitely takes the spot as my favorite donut shop and I live 2.5 hours away. The staff were super friendly and the prices are very fair for the quality of food, $2-$3 per pastry, and these things are bigger than your hand! Will come again next time I’m in town for work.

My husband and I are visiting Traverse City this weekend and I’m so glad we came across this bakery. Everything we tried was so delicious! I was so blown away by the beautiful artistry on the cookies. The employees were so kind and welcoming, we can’t wait to come back and try more goodies!

I can’t offer anything about the actual business because I’ve never been there but I’ve eaten their Glazed Sour Cream donuts and they’re the best in America as far as I can tell. And I’ll walk out of a bakery with nothing if they’re out of Glazed Sour Cream. They’re large, gnarly and perfectly firm on the outside and cakey on the inside. I camp up near there every October and always get several for the few whim there.

My folks introduced me to Potter’s over 30 years ago. Their English Muffin bread was a staple in my parents’ freezer. It became a family favorite and it continues on with my grown kids. In fact, I asked my son to stop in during his trip to Traverse City this weekend. Their cakes and cookies are amazing too!!!

I am not sure how anyone could give this bakery anything less than 5 stars. I stopped in around 11:00 on a Saturday and the case was filled with delicious looking treats. The employee was so kind and patient while I decided on my order. I got a box full of deliciousness, loaf of fresh bread, three dog treats and a perfect cup of coffee for a mere $18! Unheard of in 2026. I will make sure to come here every time I am in TC!

Every single person who works here is amazing. I visit Potter’s every week. I use their treats to build relationships within my profession. They are so beloved within the community, it’s always a hit. Thanks guys 🙂 You get a consistent product and the most kind service. The manager, Carlie and all the cashiers are top notch, the absolute best, they feel like friends. Locals know, but if you’re visiting- must stop!

This place was hopping! I was impressed by the efficiency of the team behind all the “goods.” I will say I had higher hopes for the cinnamon roll I ordered, but I don’t doubt there are many wonderful options here. Clearly is beloved by the neighborhood. I’d still come back.

Hi there potters, your probably not gonna read this, but I am from Florida, and my dad recently flew up to Traverse city Michigan for a job and got your donuts and flew them back down here, and I just wanna say they were the greatest donuts I’ve ever had in my entire life, I’m not even exaggerating, they genuinely are. So I just wanna say thank you for the greatest donuts ever 🙂

My fiancé and I went in as we had never been there before. We got a chocolate raspberry torte and one of the half off cakes they had. The cake was 20 dollars, the torte was 50. I paid 71 dollars.
The half off cake was inedible. Super dry, and the frosting tasted like the coloring. Just wasn’t good. Ok, that’s my bad for buying a half off cake.
The torte was even worse. It was frozen, had ice crystals all over the top that melted and left a white film on the top. Not really appealing the way it looked. For 50 dollars you would think it would be top notch but it’s at par with a cake you’d get from Walmart.
Plenty of bakery’s in TC. Won’t be returning to this one.
