We especially loved the tofu-based dish with a rich, spicy sauce—it was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly balanced with vegetables. The flavors were bold but not overpowering. Another standout was the stir-fried vegetables with peppers and onions, which had a great smoky taste and paired really well with the steamed white rice. Everything tasted freshly cooked, and the sauces were flavorful without being too oily.
The portions were generous, making it perfect for sharing with friends. The simple presentation let the food speak for itself. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable, ideal for a relaxed meal with good company. Service was quick and efficient, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
Overall, Potsticker House is a fantastic spot if you’re craving authentic, flavorful Asian food in Chicago. It’s a great place to come with friends, enjoy multiple dishes, and leave fully satisfied. I’d definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for tasty, comforting food.
I got soup dumplings bc I get them whenever I can and they were exceptional. The wrapper was slightly thicker than some places I’ve had it but it was very enjoyable. I like it when the thicker parts of the dough have that chewy texture to them. They provided vinegar and soy, and chili oil for dipping. I think I forgot to ask about mustard.
Secondly I got the beef tendons. For what they charge I got SO much and ended up having leftovers which were so delicious reheated. I got them cold, they were fresh and chewy and the sauce / oil they served on them was salty to perfection. It came with sliced onions and a lot of fresh cilantro, and after mixing everything together for a perfect bite with their white rice was a life changing moment.
Everything was amazing. Also for their fresh soy milk, it was slightly sweet and creamy and kind of vegetal but in a good way? Like you can tell they used fresh soybeans that were green and crisp. Absolutely lovely.
Ended up going back the next day for more of the tendons and I got a traditional Chinese pan cake. It had the best flaky thin dough that had been stretched and rolled back on itself and then spiraled and pan fried I assume. It was light and airy and easy to pull apart. They served it with oyster or hoisin sauce, not sure but it was a great salty sweet combination.
10/10 would go back will always recommend. I love places that have more traditional cuisine and this is one of those places
Definitely a must visit place if you are in this part of town!
