Everybody has a bad day. I’m assuming the workers did when these bad reviews were written because I enjoyed the food thoroughly and the service was excellent. I’m so excited to come back, the portions were great for me and I have a big appetite. My one craving as a vegan for 10 years has finally been satisfied

itle: Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful service

Review:
On December 13, I went to Pots N Woks in Pico Rivera (11213 Washington Blvd) to pick up food. While placing my order, the woman at the counter, who claimed to be the owner of the restaurant, suddenly yelled at me and insulted me in front of other customers. She said she could do whatever she wanted because she was the owner.

I was shocked, embarrassed, and very uncomfortable. This behavior is completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. As a paying customer, I expected basic courtesy and polite service, which I did not receive.

I strongly urge the management to address this issue and ensure that all customers are treated with respect. No one should experience this type of humiliation when visiting a restaurant.

1 out of 5 Avoid at all costs
The food is terrible chow mein (1/5), orange chicken (0/5), and vegan chicken (1/5) were all greasy, and overly salty. Service was just as bad (1/5), and ordering online deserves a zero slow, disorganized, and not worth the hassle.

You’re genuinely better off at Panda Express it’s cheaper, faster, and somehow tastes better and fresher than this place. I used to like it, but the quality has dropped off a cliff. Save your money and your time. Never again pots n walk away

I want to be very clear that the issue was the cashier. Other staff members were polite and professional.

We were respectful from the beginning. We stepped aside and allowed other customers to order and receive their food first so we would not hold up the line. Only after everyone else was finished did we ask questions.

I explained that I have a ginger allergy and that I had eaten here two weeks ago when my food was prepared fresh and I had no reaction. I was told they are now using a new seasoning. Because of that change, I asked for the brand of the veggie seasoning so I could personally contact the manufacturer to clarify what was listed as “other.” Ginger was not listed. I was asking for reasonable allergen information.

I was also willing to try other items and asked about other food options that could be made without the seasoning or without ginger. I was asking for reasonable accommodation so I could safely eat.

They refused to share the brand. They refused to clarify ingredients. They refused to accommodate my ginger allergy. They refused to suggest or prepare alternative items. They did not want to do anything.

The cashier responded with attitude and defensiveness. She said “let’s take this seriously” followed by “we have it in everything” without confirming any ingredients. That statement was vague and illogical. It cannot logically be in everything.

She gave contradictory information by first saying we would have to wait until 8 pm for ingredient information and later saying we could call instead.

When my boyfriend calmly clarified that I had asked about other food options, the cashier dismissed him and stated that she never spoke to him and that the conversation was only between her and me. This was said in a defensive and inappropriate manner and was used to shut down the discussion rather than address the allergy concern.

She escalated the situation further by saying we were upsetting her day and that the interaction had ruined her day. She made comments about cameras watching, spoke negatively about us in front of other customers, pretended to take a phone call, and pushed another employee into the situation even though that employee had nothing to do with the issue.

We clearly told the other employee that this situation had nothing to do with her and that her involvement was not necessary. Deflecting responsibility and avoiding a customer by pretending to take a phone call is extremely inappropriate.

This situation was handled terribly. Asking for reasonable accommodation and reasonable allergen information should never be met with hostility, dismissal, or theatrics. Because of how this was handled, I will not be returning.

I’ve been here at least three times, if not more, and Pots N Woks never disappoints. Amazing vegan options, the vegan orange chicken is a favorite! It’s so hard to get the texture right for vegan orange chicken, and Pots N Woks always nails it! The three entree vegan combo can easily feed two people.

I tried their regular (not vegan) Fried Rice, Chow Mein, BBQ Pork and Kung Pao Chicken. The food was okay, I really wanted to try their Vegan options but it was much more pricier than I thought. One plate is big enough for two people so consider sharing a plate. Overall, the food was decent. I have yet to find a really good Chinese food spot. On that note, I need to try their vegan options since I heard about this place because it’s vegan friendly.

Very clean place. Very friendly service. Good portions. Plenty of options. Yes the place is on the pricy side of fast food Chinese restaurants, but the food makes it all worth it.

placed a mobile order 30 minutes before arriving, but when I got there it still wasn’t ready. I tried to give polite feedback about not being able to add sides online, but the woman at the counter was incredibly rude, cut me off, and told me to get back in line. If you can’t even listen to your customer and tell them you can accommodate them when they’re pointing out a problem, you’re losing money — and that’s exactly what happened here. Way to dismiss me. The staff was disrespectful, the food was just greasy noodles, and the whole experience was unprofessional. I’ll never come back — they clearly don’t care about customer feedback or basic courtesy.

Not so great service, average or below food and high prices. That’s how I would describe this place. First off they don’t offer 1 item combos. Only 1 item bowls or 2/3 item combos. And the 2 item combos cost is on the very high end $12.75. And they charge $1.00 extra for BBQ dishes. Shrimp dishes are also $1.00 more. They don’t have any signs mentioning this surcharge. And to top it all off they also charge $1.00 if you use a credit card. Most fast Chinese food places dish out the food unto a package as you place your order. Not this place. You place/pay your order with the cashier and wait as long as 10 minutes for someone to dish out your food. Checkout the receipt picture I’ve included, a 2 item combo cost me almost $18.00. The franchise restaurant “Panda Express” is actually cheaper than this place and the service is way better and offer better tasting food. Spend your had earned money else where, at a mom & pop place that deserves it.
