Potente is next level, food, service, and a quiet atmosphere to truly enjoy your meal. I’ve been several times and it always impresses me. The spaghetti is a must. The tequila flight is truly divine.

Don’t sleep on this place. Special occasion or just an enjoyable dinner it’s worth the trip.

You won’t ever forget this dining experience.

Came here for our anniversary, wanting great food and a romantic atmosphere. This place did not disappoint. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. The food came out fast and everything was amazing. This isn’t a cheap place, but it was 100% worth the splurge. Definitely a place I would come back to and recommend.

Came here with my wife to celebrate Valentine’s a little early, and we would highly recommend! All of the food was excellent. The truffle fries came out well-salted, crisp, and piping hot and you could actually taste truffle. The truffle pasta was well-seasoned, and cooked to just the right texture. My wife got the scallops and they had an excellent sear on them. I got the beef rib with risotto which was incredibly tender. Everything here was well-seasoned and came out hot and fresh, something that we really appreciate. I didn’t get our server’s name, but he had great recommendations and was very attentive. They also have a happy hour menu which is nice, because it is fairly pricey.

My husband decided to bring me here for my birthday and this was truly such an amazing experience! Abraham made our experience top tier! He has extremely knowledgeable with the dishes and was very welcoming. I thank him so much for adding to this dining experience. “21 Questions” was my go to cocktail and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious as well. We finished with the creme brûlée for dessert. Abraham served us an expresó martini as well! The service here was phenomenal.

We had an amazing time! The food and drinks were so delicious and high quality, our waiter was so kind and attentive, and the atmosphere of the place was so nice! Plus, when we had to leave early they were willing to pack our dessert to go and still decorated/presented it beautifully for us! It was so nice! We definitely will be returning!

We went for a casual meal as a party of three last night. The service and ambiance were great as the previous time we visited. However we were disappointed by Cacio e Pepe that we ordered. It tasted more like noodles than pasta and very greasy. We could not really taste pecorino. Truffle did not really add more flavour to the dish. It was nothing like what we tasted in Italy.
Braised veal was delicious.

My husband and I went to Potente for the first time during Houston Restaurant Week. We ordered:

Latugga (caesar salad)
Burrata
Branzino (sea bass with veggies)
Filettino di Manzo (filet with mashed potatoes)
Spaghetti al Tartufo Nero (truffle cacio pepe; extra $20 to add to your meal)
Cafe Cioccolato (chocolate cake)
Limone Pavlova

They also start with an amuse bouche of hummus.

I was blown away by the pavlova. I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I ate it. It was sweet, tart, soft, crunchy, fruity and light. It was a masterpiece. The crunchy pavlova added amazing texture with a scoop of cold lemon sorbet and the lovely fruit mixture. This dessert is probably the best dessert I’ve had in my life, including desserts from Michelin restaurants. It’s probably not for everyone, but I thought it was perfect.

All the other dishes were solid. I ordered the Caesar salad, but wish I ordered my husband’s burrata instead. It was surrounded by beautifully fresh tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It wasn’t your typical heavy burrata with bread. It was fresh, like a garden. The mains were solid but I’m definitely not as obsessed with them. I think the branzino would do better over a risotto with larger vegetables, but it was still cooked well.

I plan to come back just for the pavlova… but I would be happy to come back to enjoy a a full meal again 🙂

Potente is phenomenal food experience. We happened upon it during Houston Restaurant Week and aren’t we glad we did! We had an artichoke humus, shrimp risotto and octopus for appetizer. I ordered the truffle pasta and my wife had the steak. To finish off, I had the butter cake and she had the chocolate cake. Everything was so delicious and it was reminiscent of many of our Italian dining experiences. The truffle pasta was cooked perfectly and the shaved truffle added such flavor to the dish. The steak was so tender and cut like butter. I would return and adamantly recommend it.

My brother went here for Houston’s restaurant week and could not stop talking about this place. I went alone so I sat in the bar area.

Parking is a little hard around the downtown area but valet is available.

They do have a dress code for their main dinning are but if you sit in the bar area they do not requiere a dress code.

The service was phenomenal!! My waiter was so attentive and had many suggestions and knowledgeable. I started off with their margarita made with Socorro tequila it was strong so watch out if you order this drink. For appetizer I had the octopus it was so flavorful the sauce underneath it brought the plate together. I was not a fan of the pasta that the octopus was on top of. They also brought out bread and hummus and to me the bread they serve with the hummus doesn’t pair well. For my main course I had their famous truffle pasta with chicken. The pasta was 10/10 taste espectacular. The chicken had a weird taste to me almost like if they had boiled it then added spices to it. For my second drink I had the campfire it was a drink made with vodka. I can’t quite remember what it was made with exactly but it was smooth not overly sweet either. For dessert I had the chocolate cake. It wasn’t as moist as I thought it would be but the raspberries and strawberries pair with it just right.

Potente became one of my favorite restaurants after this experience. I definitely recommend you to go try it. If you watch “The Bear” the service they provide is what to expect at this place.

Came here during a happy hour. Was able to experience the pasta and slider. Both were phenomenal. Loved the tenderness of the pasta and the truffles elevated it to new heights. Burger was well seasoned and thoroughly enjoyed by me and my guests. Would definitely come back.
