TLDR: sandwich, broccoli cheddar soup, cookie, and shake were all amazing!! Staff was not. I almost never leave bad reviews, but I have to on this one since they refused to let me use an offer I received via email from Potbelly.

My husband and I went to the Tinley Park location last January for the first time and had a great experience. Because it has been a year since our first time visiting this restaurant, we had questions on things, naturally. Everyone working was so short and vague at answering our questions. They were either ignorant or purposely being vague because they just didn’t want to help. (Like the size difference between the original and the big sandwiches, all you have to do is show us the bread. And which soup container is the soup cup and the soup bowl).

This is where I start to regret my choice to come here. So, I received an email from Potbelly Jan 13, it shows this offer is valid for 14 days. Email says “Buy an Entree, get one free” and also states “Entrees include: any size sandwich, whole salad, or bowl of soup” . None of them knew what was considered an entree and said I could not use the coupon, even after showing them the email.

Jan 7 and Jan 14 I received birthday emails. First one was for a free cookie. Second one was Buy 1 sandwich, get 1 free. Luckily, we were able to use the BOGO sandwich coupon since they refused to apply the BOGO Entree coupon I had. At checkout the guy had me show him the bogo sandwich email, then said there is nothing to scan for them to apply the coupon and to open the app. I opened the app, but the app was not loading. I showed him my phone and the app was showing an error code, it was not my issue. He waited for awhile and then asked for my number to look up my account… Why wasn’t that done in the first place? He was able to see the deal instantly, which means he would be able to see the entree deal as well, right?… whatever. And after we ate, I ordered a shake, totally separate transaction, and they wouldn’t let me use my free cookie coupon with it, either. I bought a cookie.

I usually get good service at this location. But today December 10th, 2025, a young man was at the load station. And he gave me some very unneeded attitude. I could hear him moaning and groaning from the back before he came out to help me, then once arriving to help me get my sandwiches he gave me some unneeded attitude. He said something and when I asked “pardon?” He said “nah not you” then when I asked for an original sandwich on regular bread he said “what’s regular?”. I feel like it was self explanatory and I don’t really need the bad attitude. I worked at potbelly long ago and I know it can be overwhelming trust me. But I was being pretty nice and efficient in how I ordered. Trying to make it as easy as possible because I know how it can be. And I don’t appreciate the attitude at all.

Went in grabbing what I thought was a quick and simple lunch two pick your pairs soup and salad and sandwich and salad my salads were just toppings and a few random pieces lettuce. Was told that whatever lettuce I got was what was on the truck. I was however offered they be remade but I was already two far for that… Just wanted to have lunch today is all… Why not make them correctly the first time confused

Terrible experience. I had ordered at 5:08, got in there at 5:20. No workers even acknowledged me, I told them I had a pick up order, and didn’t get the food until 5:50! I even asked for a refund but the process was very long the woman had said. One worker had clocked in and didn’t even put on gloves or wash his hands before starting his shift. I’m even missing one of my chips!

I came to this location Lagrange the young man was so great but young girl was so rude talking from her tip nose I didn’t give a tip because I knew she will take from my tip . I hope to separate the tip between the co workers because some work hard and other don’t care .

Placed an online order for 3:15 pickup saw 2 sandwiches ready by 3:15 had to wait 10 min and watch customer who came in after order and get there sandwiches before mine was finished. When I asked I was told would I like a cookie. I said I want my sandwich which was due 10 min ago. And was given a blank stare. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Well, I’ve ordered a sandwich with a lot of added ingredients, all I got is a sandwich with no additional ingredients slapped meat with cheese, mushrooms and no answer or call back when calling for 30+ minutes. Thanks for making a simple task look super hard! Do not recommend going there.

The food at potbelly is always good, but the people who work at this location have no idea what they’re doing. It seems like everyone there is stoned out of their minds every time I go there. I ordered 2 combos, a skinny and a kids meal, and they had no idea what I was talking about even though they’re standing in front of the menu. Then I go to pay and they over charged me by $10. Not one employee who I interacted with knew what they were doing. The whole experience was very strange. I’ve never had this happen at any other potbelly.

I’m a frequent customer of potbelly. The sandwiches and shakes are very tasty. I went to this location recently and was greeted prints by the staff. The shop was very clean and bright and spacious. I came on a Friday looking for a non meat option due to me being a Catholic and it being Good Friday. I had the veggie melt and it was super delicious. I paired it with a chocolate shake which was tasty as well. The staff of young ladies were all kind and working hard. I believe one of them was the main a manger Erika I think, and she was very friendly and told me about some promotions they had coming up. When in the area I would definitely be back. Great staff and inviting place to have lunch!
