Danaya was very helpful and I appreciated her advice and suggestions when it came to trying a new sandwich. Highly recommend comin here
I ordered a small sandwich and soup. I took the first couple bites of my prime rib sandwich and the meat was just not good, chewy enough to spit out twice. I brought my sandwich up, waited in line again, notified them, and asked if I could try the chicken salad on white bread instead. Tavia apologized to which I replied “no problem, it happens!”
Got my second sandwich…it came out with a very sad dollop of chicken salad in the middle of wheat bread instead of white bread. It didn’t cover more than 1/3 of the bread. I went back up and kindly asked for the manager, as at this point I just hoped for a refund.
I waited 10 more minutes before asking again to speak with Tavia (she was busy, I understood that.) I showed her my sandwich and asked for a refund rather than trying again. Here her tone changed and she was clearly frustrated with me. She rudely requested the last four digits of the card and was only able to find 1 of the 2 orders we were charged for. She laughs and says to me “So you’re up here complaining again when we didn’t even charge you for it??” I pull up my bank statements and show her that I was charged for it, but there were 2 different transactions (which was only necessary because of a mistake her staff made.) By this point the rest of my family is done eating and my soup has been sitting cold. After she finds the second transaction, Tavia begrudgingly offers me a partial refund for my meal. I explain I’ve been standing at the counter for 20 minutes and didn’t get a chance to eat my soup. She persists that I got the soup I ordered and she’s not going to refund me for it, hands me a receipt as says have a nice day. I asked when I can expect to see a refund and she replied “it’s on the receipt” and walked away.
I expressed that I’ve been nothing but polite throughout this entire experience and given the circumstances and I would appreciate a full refund for my (individual) meal. She argued with me and then walked away again. I was still trying to speak to her and she continued to interrupt me with “HAVE A NICE DAY MA’AM” over and over again.
No one is perfect and accidents happen, especially in food service on a busy Saturday. But I was met with rudeness and profound unprofessionalism. Tavia could have just acknowledged their hiccups and made things right, but she did not.
I would consider giving Potbelly a second chance, but I expect to be refunded for this unpleasant experience.
