I just left the potbelly restaurant in Lake Bluff and this is what my “Hot” sandwich looks like. Unmelted cheese. Very little meat, and fell apart as I opened it. $21+. Wow! I should have known when the sandwich wasn’t hot to the touch. Very interesting coming from Lake Bluff. I wished I had read the reviews before going to this place. If you’re not going to compensate me with a refund, then save your “sorry for your experience…blah blah. You need to be in your store monitoring your employees work ethic. Maybe it’s a reflection because there is no way this should still be happening after 5 months of negative reviews. If you don’t make changes, your employees are going to cause you to close down. Step it up.

Fix your front door. Every time someone enters the building, the doors get stuck on the ground out front. Well it’s wintertime and very uncomfortable trying to dine-in when the door is propped open 3 feet while it’s 20 degrees and windy.
Also, you should have someone regularly cleaning off your tables. 4/5 tables needs to be cleaned by a customer before being used.

We went through the drive through, ordered 3 sandwiches, two small soups, and one small and one full salad, $72. They took payment, didn’t give us a receipt, and asked us to pull forward. After several minutes at the end of the drive through, another car was coming out so we pulled into a parking spot. 25 MINUTES LATER with several customers who came after us getting their orders and leaving, still no food so one of us went inside to ask about it.
The person at the counter said sorry they are still putting it together. But they were taking other orders in the restaurant and doing those first and just doing ours one piece at a time in-between. Ten minutes later (35 MINUTES TOTAL) we finally got our food, or so we thought. As we’re about to drive away we realize they gave us a chicken salad sandwich instead of a tuna sandwich, so I had to go in to get it fixed. I told them the rest of the sandwich was fine, but just make it with tuna. They did take care of it right away but the person who seemed to be in charge kept asking me what to put on it, since the sandwich wasn’t for me I kept having to repeat to do what is on the one they made before, but he kept going on and on about the different cheese options and wanting me to choose. It was frustrating.
When we finally got back in the car and drove away we also realized they didn’t give us any napkins, or forks for the salads, only one small salad dressing for the two salads, and even through they did put on the receipt (which we finally got with the food) no hummus on the salad, they put hummus on it anyway, several pieces of the lettuce in it were turning pink or brown, and there were a couple of avocado chunks that were brown.
This was our first and last experience with Potbelly. The food that came correct was just ok, and while the woman who handed me the remade sandwich quietly apologized and gave us a free cookie, which was nice, there’s nothing about the experience to entice us to return. After we left we looked at the reviews (mistake to not start there) and it’s not an unusual experience. Seems like the management and training is lacking.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in today 7/26 around 2:30 with my boyfriend and ordered one strawberry shake and one fountain drink and two cookies, when we first walked in no one greeted us and we could see about 4 employees in the back just chilling and looked like they were eating, finally this one guy came to take our order and didn’t say anything to us and just left. We were waiting because I wanted to use my rewards but he just left us and didn’t even make the shake. So we got tried of waiting and left the cookies on the counter. Like seriously all those employees standing in the back being lazy. People want jobs but don’t want to do the work. Horrible.

3 out 5 they will get your order wrong. The service was poor tonight. Seems like they usually don’t care to get your order right. They were chatting it up they whole time I was at the window.
A couple things wrong with my order. I did not get a receipt, no hot peppers on the side & I scanned my app for points but they are not reflecting on my account (at least to have proof that I did purchase an order). I called 4x no answer.

Ordered a salad, soup and dream bar. Tipped 15%~thank goodness; because they staff was stoned. Had I not tipped, maybe my ordered would have been wrong. Reason I know as soon as the drive thru doors opened it wreaked of marijuana and so did my bag with the food in it. I don’t know why I keep going to this particular location; because the staff is totally unprofessional. Maybe it’s because it’s only 1/2 mile away.
