Worst grilled cheese I’ve ever had in my life . Who makes a grilled cheese like this ? It’s not even toasted or fryed on a pan or grilled . Just cheese melted in between two thick cardboard chewy pieces of bread . It’s sad the stuff they charge people to eat now a days . People will eat anything , not me. First time I’ve had pot belly and never again because how do you mess up a grilled cheese ?

Potbelly’s “Clubby” sandwich is a cult classic, and not a lot of stores or employees will make them for you since they don’t actually appear on the menu. That’s not the case today, had the pleasure of dining at the Potbelly’s on King Street, and the employees were friendly, Happy and glad to see you. Walked up, ordered my “Clubby” sandwich and the employee got to work making my order. Within no time I was selecting my toppings and getting my drink and cookie. Before I forget, the bathroom at this particular location was immaculately maintained. I’m talking surgical room level of cleanliness. If you’re looking for a good meal for a low price check them out!

I bought lunch for my team at work, my food was on the receipt but not received. I ordered through the PotBelly website for delivery and it came very timely but was incomplete. I called the store and was simply told they’re refund me. They couldn’t deliver me another meal because they “don’t have a delivery driver, they use a service.” So… I still had to figure lunch out for myself and my team felt guilty for eating theirs while I didn’t have anything to eat. Im pretty sure that Potbelly could have figured out a solution to make that right for me but they didn’t. They could have ordered a door dash from their own store just as easily as I could. Instead I ordered from somewhere else- why give Potbelly more of my business when all they gave me was one more problem to solve during my work day?

I have never been to a Potbelly before and decided to check it out today. It was a Saturday, around 10ish AM, when I walked in. It happened to be about a ten minute walk from my place and the weather was nice. I decided to order the Mediterranean (on wheat) while also grabbing a Diet Coke and a bag of Zapp’s Hotter ‘N Hot Jalapeno Chips. Before I forget, let me point out, that the menus both in the store and online show the calories. Perfect for those of us trying to watch their calorie intake for health reasons. The meal was a total of 690 calories. Not bad for a brunch.
The staff were friendly and the sandwich marker (or artist) asked me a few questions to make sure I got what I wanted on the sandwich. The cashier was also friendly and effective. It likely helped that there was no crowds during my time in the shop.
The sandwich was fresh and I ate it in the shop itself. The chairs, tables, and floor were clean. It likely helps that the sandwich is wrapped in paper AND in a tiny slip of a bag. As long as you use the bag and paper as a ‘plate’ it hard to make a mess. Also, the heat from the chips was a perfect addition to the freshness and texture of the hummus and the other toppings in the sandwich. I think I will try that combo in the future.
I also used the restroom, which was also clean, but is family style. In other words, if three men need to use the men’s restroom two will have to wait. Not a problem just something to remember.
Overall, the price was more than fair, the food was wonderful, the atmosphere was friendly, and it was a nice way to start my day and my weekend. I can’t stress enough how nice it was to have a relaxing meal AND how listing the calories on the menu really helps a person who is trying to keep track of such information. You would THINK listing calories on the menu would be the NORM but there are still places out there that do not do so.
Also, the sandwich and chips were filling. I ended up taking half of my Diet Coke home to finish off. I will likely be coming back to this location in the future as it is a healthy choice when compared to the other local food places in the same area. And slightly cheaper.
Additional – Went again last weekend. Got there shortly after they opened. Still clean, friendly, fast, and this time also got one of the tiny brownies. Only bad thing I could think of was the brownie, for its size, has 440 calories. Ouch. Still, pretty good though.
Update – 8/24/2023 – So ordered from this location and the tracker, they use Door Dash, said the order had been delivered. I called them up and it turns out the driver had been trying to call me but didn’t have my phone # but was just leaving. When I hung up I found I had two missed call from the driver. Then he texted me to ask for my address.
So he DID know my phone #?!?!
After delivery I had to call the location because a item was missing. They told me they would refund me.
Add this to all the problems I have been having lately I am taking away a star for the missing item and a star for them STILL using Door Dash. Why? If the drivers don’t even know my address how can they deliver food?
Update – Seem to be having problems again. One of their staff had to deliver that order. No more delivery. Going to Harris Teeter is easier.
Update – Ordered via their website. Sandwich had none of the extras I wasted my points on and the delivery guy almost refused to give me my order because he got my name wrong.
Update – Took my points but refused to compete the order. Again. And again. Don’t order from their website.
Update – 12/14/2024 Been told that to order anything before 10 am and their system can’t deliver the information to the delivery guys. Which is funny because that also will happened after 10 am too. So I was lied to. OR they have no idea.
Edit – Last order has missing item but for some reason nobody would take the call? I guess they were too busy?

I absolutely love going to this location.

The staff are overall friendly and they have been for the 2 years I’ve been going here. They are patient when ordering and during the transaction. They always make my food to perfection, which I appreciate.

I love the cleanliness of the store and how the store set up is. There is plenty of seating, nice area I frequent often and plenty of parking in the lot. Also, they do have free wifi!!!

It’s one of the best Potbellys that’s I’ve gone to. Great customer service, location, and staff!

By far, the worst experience I had at any Potbelly location, and I have been going to this location for some time, working nearby.

No one was in line ahead of me, but it took some time for staff to even acknowledge me. After placing a simple order of a “Pick Two” half salad and soup and being told to wait before moving to the register, I stood behind the prep line for several minutes. I got to the register and was asked with no greeting or smile, “Yes?”

I repeated my order, thinking that it had been already made since the first staff person yelled out my order, but was told, “You have to wait” because someone “was ahead of me.”

After the staff member rung up the customer who was behind me, she then asked, “You want to order?”

Although I was very hungry, I promptly left, dismissing the employee as I felt as I had been dismissed.

Thanks for absolutely nothing, PB. Extremely disappointed in the poor service which lost my business.

Went to get water from the fridge and noticed the inside of the fridge was covered in mold. There was mold growing all over one of the rows of water bottle on the lids and labels. Told the employee and it was kind of just brushed off.

The sandwich was ok but very little of the toppings I asked for. The garlic aioli, oil and Italian seasoning was basically nonexistent. Not the first time I’ve been this to this location but definitely the first time that this has been an issue.

Ordered “The Wreck” via Doordash. Sandwich was good but they put a very thin slice of swiss cheese. My order was double meat. I would have expect more cheese on this order. Attention sandwich makers

A really good restaurant chain sandwich shop. Originated from Chicago I believe. Good sandwiches, made fresh, and customized to your liking.

This is my first time at a potbelly’s and I thought it was pretty good. The shop was really cute with fun pictures on the walls and stuff. I ordered the mushroom melt which was one of two vegetarian options for sandwiches. It was quite good. The Mac and cheese reminded me of the Panera bread Mac and cheese which is pretty good. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Great place for lunch.
