I frequent this location often, and this particular experience prompted me to share this feedback. Given that the restaurant is located near a college campus—an HBCU community at that—our students, neighbors, and visitors deserve to feel invited and valued, not as though their presence creates additional inconvenience.
Throughout my visit, there were noticeable moments when staff seemed too occupied to even make eye contact. At checkout, I received service mostly from the cashier’s back rather than through direct interaction. I had to retrieve my own cup and was not offered a receipt. I also had to remind myself to request a drink, though a simple “Would you like a beverage with your meal?” could benefit both the customer experience and the establishment’s bottom line.
Additionally, I observed similar interactions with the few customers ahead of me. The store was not busy, so these weren’t issues caused by high-volume rush. Small gestures of hospitality—eye contact, a greeting, a brief offer—can significantly improve the customer experience and encourage patrons like myself to return. No one wants to feel as though they’re just stopping by “for a quick lunch” knowing they may be met with rude or impersonal service.
I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit intended, and that it helps support a more welcoming environment for everyone who visits.
Other than that the sandwich was great and the workers KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
For a “legendary” sandwich shop, the best thing I ate was a soup. And the service here is dismal and not caring.
Cool place. Wish the food and service was better.
I will visit again in the near future with no hesitation.
So polite, helpful and quick to execute orders that no one even realized the line was even that long!
Whoever this Manager is deserves a SERIOUS raise! Thank you all for a lovely lunch and a clean, quiet place to sit and enjoy!
Several people, including a cop, just gave up and left. I did end up getting my order at 1:10. Naturally the order was wrong. I don’t know if I have ever seen anyone less interested in doing their job. Really weird experience.
Not sure what the story is at this location but their staff is a disaster. There are better places to go where people won’t act like they’re doing you a favor by doing the job they’re paid to do.
