A lovely little restaurant serving authentic Cajun cuisine. While some of the food was good, unfortunately it did not sit well with our palate. Nonetheless, I felt this restaurant deserves a good review, considering the wonderful service, the owner helped us newcomers decide what we might like. Try for yourself!

Super disappointed in my visit. I frequently visit the Gonzalez location when I’m in town. This week I was staying in Baton Rouge and was excited that they had a location close to me. I look at Google before I leave and clearly see they close at 6 so I rushed over there and walked in door at 420 to see just about all the chairs put up already!!! Really an hour and a half early??? Upon walking the first the the person taking my order says “To go?”. I responded no I’m eating in if ok. I ordered the jambalaya dinner and wanted white beans which apparently were all out. So i just picked 2 other sides. Next I told the lady I wanted red beans and rice with a sausage link. She ask if i wanted a drink I said yes I want a drink so I can get tea. Grab my cup and go to get tea. Both containers are completely bone dry with spickets off and lids off so I ended up paying for tap water. I get my food the jambalaya was super dry, and there was barely any sausage or chicken. Next I open my red beans rice and no sausage link. I told the lady I had no sausage link and she says the bowl don’t have one. I NEVER ORDERED A BOWL!! I TOLD HER EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!! To me just horrible visit and night and day from the one in Gonzalez. Just felt like I was super rushed and an inconvenience even being there 1 hour and 40 minutes before closure. Not sure if same owner but this place needs a little training. The only reason I gave 3 stars on service because the lady was nice and ended up giving me a sausage link when I went back up and tried to order 1.

I ordered 2 surprise bags off the Too Good To Go app. They were amazing!!I prepared meals for about 8 people off these two bags. The food was very well prepared.
I arrived at almost closing time and yet they waited on me to pick up my order. The value for the money was excellent.

Service was friendly enough, and I placed an order for pickup. When I got home, I realized the order was incorrect, which required me to drive all the way back to the restaurant to get the correct item. While they did apologize, there was no effort made to compensate for the inconvenience or the wasted time. With several other places in BR offering the same Cajun cuisine, this experience will certainly be in the back of my mind the next time I decide where to order.

The service was quick and had generous portions. The food was amazing. The perfect amount of spice. Can’t wait to go again!

I’m not sure what the other reviewers ate when they came here to give this place a 4.4, but this was the worst Louisiana food I have ever eaten. Gumbo was bland with no flavor at all. Tasted like meat in water. Potato salad was pale white and dry. Not a hint of mayo, mustard, or seasoning at all. Just a dry ball of potato. Green beans were hard and barely cooked at all. Tasted like they came from a can and straight to a plate. Pastalaya was barely seasoned and very dry. I’d give this a 0 if possible. Terrible food for an $18 lunch plate.

My company placed a to go order for lunch, we called at 10:39am and they open at 10:30am. We only had 8 orders, to which all of them were fairly easy…I mean y’all only have a few things on the menu. Anyways, when we placed the order and the lady asked us what time it should be ready we ASKED if it could be at 11:30am. She didn’t put us on hold, and asked someone named “Cam” if it could be done by then. He then said, very rudely, “UGH I hate these last minute orders.” #1. Not last minute, y’all open at 10:30am. #2. Why not put us on hold if you’re gonna talk crap?

I typically love this place, but we will NOT be ordering at this location again.
