The menu focuses on the Greek staples people actually come for: mixed grills, souvlaki, gyros, lamb, seafood options, big salads, and plenty of cold and hot starters. Portions are typically generous, so it’s easy to over-order if you’re not careful. A good approach is to start with a couple of meze (tzatziki, spreads, grilled vegetables, feta-style starters), then do one main per person or share a mixed grill if you’re a group. The food is straightforward and satisfying—more “hearty and traditional” than “modern and fancy.”
What I like most is the overall consistency: you generally get that reliable Greek comfort-food feeling—warm, filling, and cooked the way you expect. It’s also a good place when you’re hungry and don’t want tiny portions or complicated plates. For the typical €20–30 range, the value feels fair, especially considering how much food you get.
Service is usually one of the strong points here. Staff tend to be quick, used to busy tables, and good at keeping things moving without making you feel rushed. That said, when it’s packed (weekend dinners, peak times), it gets loud and energetic, and the pace can depend on how busy the room is. If you want a calmer experience, going earlier in the evening or on a weekday makes a big difference.
Overall, Poseidon is a dependable choice for classic Greek food in Munich: big portions, lots of familiar options, and a lively atmosphere. Great for groups and casual celebrations, and a strong “go-to” when you want satisfying Greek dishes without overthinking it.

It was not good timing to find a nice restaurant but the Poseidon appeared on my search. Had a grilled calamari cause I had meat last night and today’s lunch as well.
Either grilled or flied, I was thinking of but finally went the grilled one. Feel my choice was right! The calamari has been served just after grilled, well cooked and tasted.
Only the point I would like to more is they served Spaten(Helles beer) even I love the Augustina the most;)
Probably the worst Greek restaurant I’ve been to. Tough gyros, unchewable lamb, souzuki ruined by smelly herbs. Only the souvlaki and fried zucchini were decent. Five salads and a kilo of soggy fries, but I’d rather have less food and more flavor. Supposed to save a bad evening, but only made it worse.
