Took my 85 yr grandfather here 1st time!! He loved the food. As did I !! Will definitely be back. Was nice to see that they have posole,beans tamales ,vegan tamales that I saw in the freezer. you can buy off the menu. Also they ship all over the United States.

Incredible tamales, kinda fluffy and light, yet traditional. I cannot get over how incredible the tamales are!
Both red and green sauces are extremely flavorful and spicy –but not too spicy, and amazingly flavorful.

We bought 4 dozen a mixture of pork, chicken and veggie right before getting on a plane to Miami super fun, exposing tamales to folks who have never had them before, wow were they delicious especially the pork ones the red and green sauces were fantastic super spicy super good even the guacamole was spicy, when back in Santa Fe I’m definitely returning to eat lunch on premise the dishes going out while I was waiting for my order to be put together looked very yummy

Food was amazing! Great flavor and the chile is some of the best I’ve had in Santa Fe! Very friendly staff and friendly atmosphere. Tamales were flavorful and the cheese were my favorite. Going here for breakfast is great too. Especially the burritos. The place felt warm, comfortable and smelled like home cooking. 10/10 would recommend.

My husband and I ate at this restaurant. I only chose this place to get a simple Frito pie. The place is dirty. Tables dirty. Caked on honey. Bathrooms are pitiful and unsanitary.
My Frito pie had a reddish hair in it. I took it to the staff and they made a new one. The second one, they used the Chile from the posole. So it was smothered in oil. And it tasted terrible. Again I took it to the staff, they offered to make something different or money back. No apology. It was a fix. But no quality control. At this point my husband is almost finished with his meal. And I’m waiting to eat. I ordered a tamale plate. And we got a bag or biscochitos for our trouble. The total cost of the meal was $50 and tax. The manager did help to a degree. But she served the hairy food, and the grease bowl. So is this incompetent? No standards of food. And for $50? Dirty, gross, and bad service. Maybe if you’re a tourist and don’t know better this is good. But for us, never again.

While I’m currently in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’m FROM Santa Fe and have been eating at Posa’s my whole life and I LOVE this place. I am with the Production Team for Carnaval San Francisco (the largest Latino and Hispanic cultural celebration west of the Mississippi) and last night we had a potluck at our planning meeting where we all brought food from where we all grew up. I was able to give my colleagues their first taste of New Mexican cousins some I’m the only New Mexican in the group. With the changes in shipping for Posa’s i wasn’t able to order from the website and I was a little worried I wasn’t going to have tamales to share. But, one quick phone call and Johanna took care of me and had my tamales shipped out and I had them in hand 2 days later. Everyone loved them and I got misty eyed the second that pork and red chile got my tongue because I was instantly transported home. I can’t thank El Merendero and Johanna enough…I just felt like she was going the extra mile for me. Brilliant service and (as always) excellent food!
