The food is excellent. While individual dishes naturally vary in flavor, I can confidently recommend what we ordered and enjoyed the most—particularly the fish and chips and the cod fish. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The owner, Joe, is equally commendable: a kind, professional, and welcoming presence. The location is superb, and the view is truly splendid. Thank you for a wonderful experience; I will certainly return.

Amazing experience! Food quality was superb and cooked to perfection. Price was on par for other seafood places in Coos Bay. We came for lunch and I got the Captain’s Platter. TONS of food heaping on the plate and it was all perfectly cooked and none was dried out. Waitress was kind and courteous, and she also brought out a coloring book and crayons for my daughter. Waitress also consistently checked on us, which seems like a dying act for most wait staff. We will definitely make the trip again and this place will be a priority to visit again.

The chef came out and visited with us at our table. He recomended the snapper and prepared it just the way we like it, lightly broiled. We had a wonderful experience and would recomend to others with no reservations. The service was great, food was outstanding and the experience was memorable. Hope to return.

The food was Absolutely Amazing! And the service was equally as wonderful. I don’t think I’ve been to a restaurant where they’ve paid as much attention or cared as much. I recall we were stuffed to the brim and ready to get boxes, when I realized (quite loudly by accident-I have a loud voice and it echoed ) that I didn’t get the clam chowder that I had ordered two separate employees almost immediately popped up from different corners like “Did we hear you’re missing chowder?” And I turned around like Wow you guys have GREAT hearing They’re all super friendly and kind, and we really enjoyed our server and everyone else who came by and had contact with.

I will say- for our price range it was a bit expensive; but we had been driving through towns for almost an hour and a half trying to find a restaurant on our way through into coos bay and this was the first place we finally found that was open. Everywhere else we used our GPS to get to, was closed even though it said they were open and their voice-mail said it was open. It was great to find a restaurant we could sit down and break our travels at; but it was a lot of money for 2 adults and a child.

(The fuzzy picture I didn’t get a clear shot of- but it’s the Escargot thay my 4 year old daughter even tried and absolutely loved!! She also enjoyed the fried crab legs, baked oysters, and the fried mushrooms )

Also pictured is the Cajun salmon, the fish and chips, two oyster shooters, and the child’s fettuccine Alfredo

It was great to watch her try all the new amazing foods! I wish we could have left more as a tip for the amazing server;but we were already spending so much money that I couldn’t afford to give any more.

Although our waitress was outstanding and the oysters we had were fresh, the oysters were not on the half shell as advertised. The restaurant offers oyster shooters for a price reflecting the difference between already shucked oysters and oysters on the half shell which are freshly shucked and delivered in their own shell. The oysters we received were previously shucked and served on an oyster shell reused by the chef according to the wait staff. Needless to say we were shocked! I don’t recommend dining based on the obvious misrepresented dish we were served. The restaurant represents itself as a fine dining option with a representation of fine wines. There was only one vineyard represented for red and white. It was a bottom tier wine. The mixed drink options were extremely limited. No tequila at all. Very disappointing. They also advertise a view of the river while dining, but that is only available for dinner. We visited in the off season, mid October, so I cannot comment on how loud the atmosphere may get. There were only two other diners in the restaurant. I also cannot comment on the availability of parking as the parking lot was essentially empty, but fairly large for the area. We felt the quality of the dining area was not reflected in the cost of the meal. Overall, I cannot recommend. 15 years ago when I dined there it was very good. I think the present owners are banking on the past glory and reputation of the restaurant.

We were pretty excited about this place but ended super disappointed. We had our dog, so we sat out by the patio, which was pretty. But we kept getting forgotten about. Kim, our waitress was amazing. It was pretty busy but they messed up my boyfriends original order. He ordered Captains Platter, sautéed, and everything came out breaded. His correct order was finally ready about 15 minutes before we had to leave, and so he ate quick and we had to run. My food was super small, I ordered the Deep Fried Crab, and I got maybe 7 small pieces. For the price I was pretty disappointed. The food WAS good though! And Kim was doing her very best, I want to make it clear the she was amazing. The owner was also very sweet for accommodating us with our dog. Would go back, without our dog, and order different food.

We were expecting great tasting seafood but…
The deep fried oysters and the fish were undercooked and very bland. Even just some S&P in the batter would have helped. The fries were good, the coleslaw was inedible, it was also bland and tasted like it was made days ago. The waitress was very nice and friendly. We probably won’t go there again as the price was way too high for not-so-good food.

So good that I visited 2 days in a row. The seafood is local and fresh. Bay shrimp cocktail was simple with a tasty cocktail sauce. Local Cod Fish and Chips, Panko crusted. Note that the F&C and other fried goodies come out FAST = Flash fried not bathing in oil. Service is great, welcomed my pup on the patio.

It’s not fancy. Plastic forks, paper cups. Christmas lights year around. It’s a gem.
