You like little family friendly dive restaurants, this is your place. Family owned! Service was friendly and fast. You’re gonna get a good ole Ohio family home cooked meal here. The double cheeseburger was delicious!

While traveling south from Columbus, we wanted to grab a quick breakfast. We than came up on Portside Cafe by luck. We initially thought we might want to pass on this place but we decided to give it a try, and I’m glad we did. As soon as we walked in, one of the staff greeted us with the biggest smile and quickly walked us to our table. We sat down and took in all the charm of this very established restaurant. The menu was simple listing all their breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We ordered our breakfast and drinks. The service was on point and the food was delicious. If you find your self looking for good food with a homestyle charm, this is your place.

I have tried countless breakfast places over the years. It’s my favorite kind of food. I have tried a side of sausage gravy at every place looking for something that tastes as good as my grandma used to make (I swear she must have added unicorn spit or something because I have the recipe and just can’t get it right.)
I’m not saying Portside got it exactly right because I don’t think anyone can, but it was the closest that a restaurant has ever gotten. Peppery and actually seasoned.
For two breakfasts and two slices of pie, we made out like bandits, especially with the portion sizes.
Bacon had that crispy bite with a good chew, sausage links had a nice crispy skin.
The pies were phenomenal. We tried the blackberry, which came out still steaming, and had full berries in the filling with an excellent flakey crust and the coconut cream pie which was fluffy and delicious.
For coming on a Sunday morning, I expected to have a massive wait, but we came in, sat down (it’s a sit where you like sort of place,) and had food in less than 20 minutes.
Definitely will be back.
I am full of pancakes, pie, and joy.

Do not let the look from the road fool you. This place is awesome!!! Prices look like they are from 2010 and the food is great. Highly recommend stopping here if you are passing through. Breakfast served all day.

What a great local spot for a bite to eat!! We were just passing through and stopped for a late lunch. They had some daily specials which sounded wonderful, but we didn’t want a big meal. We opted for a cheeseburger and a patty melt and French fries. Everything was delicious! Fries were super hot, crispy and fresh. Burgers were cooked nicely – not over done. Everything tasted fresh and the patty melt was really good too.
Great place for a quick delicious meal at very reasonable prices.

Had breakfast at Portside a few days ago. Total cost was around $13. I got an omelette with crumbled sausage which came with an order of toast. I also ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy. Everything was fantastic! And it was huge. We had a party of 11 guys and the service was amazing. This lady knew what she was doing! From what I could tell everyone was happy with their food. I saw people getting pancakes, omelettes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, etc. most of the bills were less than $10.
