I had an incredible experience at Porton di Nôs Ilha, a gem in Brockton that offers an authentic taste of Cape Verdean cuisine and culture. The owner personally invited me, which made the evening even more special.
The restaurant’s ambiance is truly captivating. The interior is beautifully designed with colorful mood lighting and stunning artwork that gives us a snippet of Cape Verdean history and landscapes. A vision of the owner. The three-dimensional murals on the façade, created by local artist shows us the unique scenes from Cidade Velha.
I ordered the grilled tuna steak, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, served with a selection of fresh vegetables (Kumida sta sabi!)
What truly sets Porton di Nôs Ilha apart is the warmth and passion of its owner, Paulo Semedo (and his wife Rosangela Tavares). They’ve created more than just a restaurant; it’s a cultural experience. Paulo came and spent a lot of time with us during the dining experience.

Porton Di Nos Ilha is unique gem on Brockton’s South Main Street. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the ambiance. It’s almost an immersive experience. It’s like your sitting in a courtyard looking out beyond the village to the ocean. The walls are not just painted but there’s texture, a feeling of realness to it all. This comes as no surprise, as the gentlemen who created it all is a Disney artist and painter. It is an experience you will enjoy.
Most importantly, the food is fantastic and the service was attentive. I order the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the grilled tuna which she loved. The flavors are an eclectic blend of Caribbean, American and Portuguese. It will satisfy a wide range of palates.
I give Porton Di Nos Ilha my highest recommendation. I will return soon with friends.

Great place. My waitress Ira from SV was great. Everyone was nice. I was there for my bday celebration and everyone sang happy bday to me. They give champagne as a bday gift. I loved the beautiful artfull terra terra place. I wish the owner all the best

I absolutely had an amazing time. Wonderful atmosphere a wonderful place for date night girls night out. Food is amazing this customer services amazing woman receive a rose flower as they come in. The music is on point. Overall I get this 10 out of 10.

I now realize the meaning of the saying “A treasure in your backyard.” Literally, this is the case for my wife and me.
For about a year and a half, we lived only one block away, and drove by this restaurant all the time, most times we would remind each other that when we will have time, we would be sure to check out this restaurant.
From the outside, with creative imagination, we were sure the inside would be breathtaking.
Today, November 30, 2024, would be our fortunate opportunity and pleasure to realize the treasure right in our backyard.
At another event, earlier, we met the owner, Paulo, who invited us to his restaurant to try what he promised would be the finest food, in an atmosphere that would be breathtaking.
He was absolutely 100% correct, and on point. The food was very reasonably priced, the service was intimately friendly and personable.
We learned a valuable lesson today- you don’t have to travel across the state or out of the country to experience a treasure of fine dining, you should know that it is in your backyard.

I had the most amazing experience with this restaurant. Mine was a take-out in the form of meal prep for the week (and YES!! They offer meal prepping services as well).everything was amazing, my food was ready on time even though I ordered 12 servings. When I arrived the reception was great, the service and atmosphere was very welcoming. I got my food and the aroma was amazing. The food was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. Truly delicious and nutritious as well. I recommend Porton Di Nos Ilha Restaurant, you should try them!

Honestly, the aesthetic was my first impression. Unfortunately, the WORST experience I’ve ever had. Their menu lacked appearance and versatility. The food was TRASH, the service was disgusting. Everything was overcooked and tasteless. A member of my party asked to get a drink replaced because she had acid reflex and was REJECTED. She had to keep the drink that she didn’t even try. I asked for bread and not only did I get bread and tuna like it was a tuna salad. But the bread showed up after my meal. They immediately charged us 18% tip when they deserved 0%. Then , when we tried to voice our opinion on the service she immediately began very argumentative and demanded the 18%. It was so expensive for no reason. How my bill come up to $300? HUH??? The checkout process became even more of a hassle. DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE BUGS ALL OVER MY FOOD!!!!!! I should’ve known better when the menu was in google docs. Would not recommend to a friend 0 stars very ghetto!!!!!!!! PORTON DE MERRDDDAAAAAAAA

Terrible Terrible Experience! If I can give 0 stars I would. I would not normally leave reviews but after leaving the restaurant I was charged beyond what I spent. Starting from the beginning, the menu is ridiculous. It looks like it was done on Microsoft word and no review or thought was put into it. While ordering food and drinks, someone in my party could not drink the beverage they ordered because of their acid reflex and the owner of the restaurant refused to change the drink. Speaking of the owner, she needs to be retrained on customer service etiquette. Arguing with patrons is WILD. And there were flies inside and around our food as well. It’s always the little things that will make someone’s experience in an establishment. But the icing on the cake is the fact that someone from the restaurant was still using my debit card weeks after being at the restaurant. First two charges I called and made a claim with my bank and thought it was blocked but then got charged for the third fraudulent time for a big chunk of money from the same restaurant! They are scammers!!! Don’t waste your time!

First time dining in and the experience wasn’t the best by salmon wasn’t cooked well and still had scale on it. When I voiced my concerns the cook said I was wrong. The octopus was too tough I definitely won’t be returning. Also it’s a Saturday night and the place wasn’t busy at all maybe 7 people and I still waited a hour for food and drinks took a while.
