This is a very casual pizza/Italian restaurant. They do offer table service and considering what it is, it’s a good size dining room (tables only, no booths). Again, it is very casual. Despite the moderate sized dining room, I suspect most of their business is take out.
Service was rather laid back and casual. That’s not say it was anything less than good, it was good. So, we did have a mishap with our order, but they were quick to fix it, kind of. They didn’t get the topping correct to our order. We sent it back, and our server owned it and took it back. However, the kitchen did not remake the pizza. It was obvious that the kitchen removed the incorrect toppings and added the correct

Watching my brother build this restaurant from the ground up has been inspiring. The food is delicious, the environment is inviting, and the experience feels special every time. Growing up, our lives revolved around a restaurant and a father who worked tirelessly to provide for our family. We learned early on what hard work and sacrifice looked like. My brother took everything our dad taught us and turned it into something truly special. I couldn’t be more proud, and I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself.

I get the steak and cheese sub with fries sometimes twice a week! It is delicious! The employees are always very friendly and catching a glimpse of Vinny is the icing on the cake!!

I ordered two servings of lasagna takeout. The pasta was not cooked enough and had the texture of leather. There was a sub role included that was supposed to have garlic butter but they forgot that. I hate to discard food but I had to throw away $50.00 worth of food.

Portofino was a great find in Hanover County. We got a small spinach pizza and a Portofino steak and cheese. Both were delicious. The olive oil may have been a little heavy on the pizza, but the pizza crust and cheese were fabulous. The sub sandwich was great as well…with a unique Italian spin. The service was fantastic, and the restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere. We’ll certainly be back.

I’m not sure what happened to this place. But they don’t care about the food they put out of the kitchen anymore. We’ve been going here for years, last several visits has made me come to the conclusion that they have given up on quality food and service. They have a solid group of older people that dine here, that’s the only thing keeping them afloat. If they don’t fix it very soon the business will go under. Which is a shame, nice owner, decent staff and in a nice setting. This place has potential, they just need to bring the love back in to the food.

My husband & I just left after eating dinner tonight (we eat there at least 1-2 times a month & have for the last 4 years, since moving to the area) & were absolutely blown away by Kari. We love Portifino’s, but tonight was something that had us both speechless. She was on her own, no manager & no other waitstaff to help her out. The place was booming! We counted at least 15 tables that were seated, just during the time we had dinner, countless people that came in for pick-up & the phone was ringing on two different lines non-stop. She was literally jogging at times, to bounce from one area to the next & not once did she lose her smile or willingness to help. Riley, from the kitchen, was coming out to help when he could & was incredibly friendly as well. I thought it was adorable to see the two of them pulling together in a very stressful situation. I told Kari she was like the 8th wonder of the world b/c no one else could have handled tonight the way she did. I’m 49 & have seen a lot in my years, but to see someone, especially someone of her age have that degree of maturity & grace in such a busy & demanding enviornment was certainly one for the record books. Portifino is beyond lucky to have her on their team & I certainly hope that she is rewarded for her outstanding efforts tonight b/c she truly was a rockstar in every way!!! ***And the food was delicious as always!!!
