We decided to try Portofino for dinner based on the reviews. It’s a restaurant in a mall and we didn’t realize there is no bar and they only have a wine and beer liquor license which is disappointing on both counts. Our experience began with bread service -they brought three little pieces – it was warm – and served it with tasteless EVOO. We requested a more robust olive oil which they brought out from the kitchen – much better! What they have on the table is terrible for a mediterranean restaurant and they could have been more generous with the bread but they were happy to bring more. We had the escargot which was a generous portion with a good garlic and herb sauce. It would have been a little better if served with They could have crostini but they did have seafood forks (bonus for that!). We also shared the Branzino served over spinach – they have a $5.00 sharing charge but as you can see from the pictures – we each got a full entree sized serving. It was cooked very well and the sauce was delicious.

Next time – While the food is very good, we do not find the ambiance inviting – the lighting is too bright and the exposed kitchen is not attractive. The lack of bar seating and a full bar would deter us from coming back – sadly.

Portofino Bistro is a must visit for anyone who enjoys excellent Italian food, fresh fish and Vegan options. Fresh ingredients are used in preparation of each meal that authenticates a bistro in the Mediterranean. Our veal parm was outstanding, tender and flavorful and the bread is divine. Chef Marcelo is talented in his meal creations as every entree is thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting with cloth tablecloths, soft lighting and an excellent wine list. The Service at Portofino Bistro with wait staff, Gustavo and Andrew, is of a 5 star restaurant meeting the customers requirements to enjoy their dining experience. We will return, as we love to dine here and enjoy their consistent delicious meals.

The food was good. The fish had a nice texture, the dishes were all enjoyable, and the seasoning was well balanced. The veal was also very tasty.

This is a really nice hidden little gem in Juno Beach. I have been here several times now and the food and service have always been excellent. It can be very busy on certain nights so reservations are recommended.

My dad and I stopped by on a Sunday pm wanting to try an Italian restaurant that I had never been to. When I sat down and opened the menu, I realized that this place copied Portobello’s menu almost exactly. They have absolutely nothing to do with Portobello which has been in Jupiter over 20 years. Portofino Bistro has less than 10 years. I learned that the owners were former employees of Portobello and left shortly after COVID to open this restaurant and stole the menu ideas and recipes. There were maybe 8 tables all together there and 2 servers. There was also a man there that was helping the servers. I’m not sure if he was the owner or not. My dad and I ordered 2 simple pasta dishes and waited almost an hour. As my dad and I were walking out, this man there who was outside helping one of the servers said that our food was up in the window. How could he know this if he was outside? We continued to walk towards our car and he followed us saying that we had to pay. We never even got our food. DON’T GO HERE! This restaurant has NOTHING to do with the popular and well established Portobello Cucina Italiano in Jupiter!!

Great food. Truly delicious. It’s all made to order so it took a little while, but completely worth the wait. Will definitely come back. Eggplant parm, branzino, carbonara, all delicious. Nice deserts as well. Great meal.

Andrew was an amazing server! I am new to the area and am scooping out highly rated restaurants. My boyfriend has lived in the area over 9 years and this is his first time! And will certainly not be our last time! We started with a nice glass of Sancerre and Chile savigionon blanc. The bread was nice and warm! Had sautéed calamari and sausage and broccoli rabe to start – delicious! Super sweet tasting sausage pairing extremely well with the broccoli in the sauce with ample garlic slices. For our mains we had the special – veal chop layered in Parmesan with their house red sauce with a side of homemade raviolis and the veal scarpatiello paired with their baby amarone wine . Location is a Diamond in the rough – 100% worth it! Food. Service. Wine. ✅

We had dinner there recently, a great experience! Welcoming atmosphere, attentive and friendly service. We started with the homemade burrata with sliced tomatoes – very nice. Main course was the Rigatoni Bolognese and Calamari Barcaiolo – the pasta was superb; fresh, not overcooked, amazing. Glass each of Montepulciano and Tempranillo – also very nice. Dessert was pistachio tartufo – a first for us. A delightful evening, you won’t be disappointed!

My first time here and Will absolutely return. Beautiful service all class waiters and staff. Delicious fresh seafood. I had risotto de mare. Wine list not the same old. Delicious Pinot Grigio from Italy and unoaked Chardonnay seal rock. Lovely people. Makes the whole experience that much better.
