5 little grilled shrimp around a stack of rice for $34 bucks, eh. The balsamic snails were good, but the grilled sardines were a little fishy and we left hungry. Nice ambiance and service though. From what I hear, family owned.

A truly memorable meal in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Great food, friendly service and unique cuisine. In contrast to other restaurants in the area, the noise level was low, making conversation easy against a background of pleasant Portuguese music.

This was without a doubt the worst calamari we have ever had. It was served bland and rubbery; a stark contrast from any other calamari we have had. When we discussed this with the waitress she dismissed our feedback saying that this was the proper way of cooking Portuguese Calamari. I thought it may have been a bad batch, but I found another review from a Portuguese national that had the same complaints, so maybe it is just the way they prefer to make the calamari.

This was an amazing experience. Being the daughter of parents born in the Azores this was really authentic. Chef Luis visited our table and was an absolute pleasure. This is definitely a must.

I give it 3 stars because the classic Portuguese dish was not tasty. Namely rice with seafood. They first brought this dish to me spicy (it’s not a spicy dish), then they remade it, but it still wasn’t good. I thought the problem was the rice and the sauce. Nevertheless, the homemade sausages were delicious. The cocktails were good, too. The service was excellent.

Very old school restaurant with an uninspired menu and relatively small portion. This is sort of a local tourist trap, you can literally go one street up and try 20 much better restaurants at a similar price point. Why my client wanted to go there I have no idea but it was a very disappointing and underwhelming experience. Like eating cafeteria food, served in cafeteria dishes and a crumbling setting that hasn’t been renovated in like 40 plus years. Do yourself a favor and just cross the street and go to Gibby’s you will thank me for it.

We are a three-generation family of 7 who dined here on New Years Eve. We had an awesome experience. The restaurant served a pre-fixed menu and obviously planned to serve us from 8:00-midnight. They provided noisemakers and hats, wonderful food and an inviting atmosphere. The table was set against a lovely window in a semi-private space, making it easy for my hard-of-hearing father to hear. Our server, Alex, was attentive and professional with just the right hint of warmth. We creating a lasting memory of sharing a special NYE together with the help of the staff at Porto Mar. Thank you for your care for us!

We went to Porto PT last year. This dinner was a treat from a dear friend we caught up with in Montreal. It was very good. The atmosphere was terrific. Going to the toilette is its own adventure. (Stairs)
