First time eating Portillo’s and it was horrible. I got the beef sandwich and the bread was so soggy . It looked and felt like it was dipped in water. Just over all not good. Really disappointed because everyone was telling me to try this place since I just moved here from Texas. The root beer was great and the cheese fries.

I very seldom write reviews, especially negative ones, but this location has severely gone down hill.
The past few months I have had several consecutive orders that have been missing large items, poor quality and/or poor packaging.
The order I received tonight displayed poor quality, poor service and unprofessionalism.
To start, the wait was extremely long. Typical for Portillo’s during busy hours but usually followed by fresh, quality food. This order was far from either of those.
I placed a simple order, double cheeseburger with ketchup mustard and mayonnaise.
When I arrived to the cashier window the attendant read back my order as ketchup, mustard and lettuce. I let the attendant know I ordered mayonnaise, not lettuce. She acknowledged and proceeded to take my payment.
Moving to the next window upon receipt of my food the attendant read my order to have lettuce, not mayonnaise. I again stated mayonnaise, not lettuce. The attendant took the food back and returned within a few moments stating that she had corrected the order and proceeded to hand me my food.
When I arrive home, I open the burger box and remove the top bun to find an unreasonable amount of mayonnaise topping the patty along with lettuce. It is obvious that this was intentionally done.
I decided to return back to the restaurant to return the food. The manager was professional and gave me a refund.
I am beyond over this location. There is no reason to wait as long as they take, pay the prices they charge, to receive such poor quality, disrespect and unprofessional service.

Such a fantastic place to enjoy cake shakes, Chicago style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, Cobb salads, and cheesy fries! Nostalgic atmosphere with framed wall photos from yesteryear and present. Fast, friendly, delicious service – plus they make their own catered, delicious, huge chocolate cakes! I WILL be back!

Nice atmosphere & bright throwback decor. We’re from GA and friend recommended trying Italian Beef sandwich which I’ve never had. Sandwich was good and large. Not my favorite sandwich but personal preference. Also tried chocolate cake malt and it was really sweet. We didn’t finish it. It’s more liquidy like a drink, maybe if thicker ice cream to eat with a spoon? Again, personal preference, not restaurant issue. Sat on patio, nice breeze, alcohol not allowed on patio which was unfortunate. Beer would have been nice with sandwich. We were dining *at* restaurant so didn’t like that food was packed to-go. Would prefer on a plate/basket so you didn’t have to unwrap it all. Clean bathrooms. Fun visit.
