We were party of two, we ordered the Big Beef, One Hot Dog, Cheese Fry, Chocolate Malt, and a Chopped Salad.. The bill was about 43 bucks… Everything was good except for the big beef. That big beef was very very skimpy on the beef. Somehow corporate greed wins over customer satisfaction. We will not be returning customers.

Never been to this location but the food was amazing. The steak and cheese croissant was top shelf (I added grilled onions) Only issue was the order taker who seemed off put that I didn’t give her a tip for taking my order? If that a thing now?
Very relaxing and fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices make this landmark totally worth the visit. I do look forward to stopping in again!

The food was just okay. The Maxwell Street Polish was good but it could use more toppings besides onion and mustard. The chili dog was too soggy. The onion rings were bad.

Nothing hits like a real Chicago dog from a Chicago legend. The hot Italian beef with sweet & hot peppers was also . We loved the vintage diner decor as well. Of course there’s a choice of kiosk ordering or the counter with a real human, so that’s up to you. Great experience while in town!

We just got our order, and the hot dog bun wasn’t even fully cooked — it was raw and doughy inside, like sticky pudding. For the prices they charge, this is just unacceptable. Portillo’s used to mean great quality and consistency, but lately it feels like nobody checks what’s going out. Really disappointing.

Busy but got food in a reasonable time. Got shakes as well but 80%+ if the mix in items ( strawberries, chocolate, malt powder, etc) were stuck on the bottom in a weird lump. I know guests are to throw away trash but it would be nice to have tables wiped off.

A Chicago favorite, this location is very efficient moving the line, and even though it’s busy, the food is prepared with care. I’ve had portillo’s enough to know how it should be coming out and it always does!
You can’t miss the chocolate cake shake and if you’re eating fries, definitely level it up with some cheese sauce. It’s going to be a tough choice I’m warning you, Italian sausage or Chicago beef with peppers? Either way you can’t go wrong.
The location is clean, The staff is friendly, service is efficient, and the food is delicious. What’s not to love?!

Beef was delicious, but much smaller than it used to be. We had hot dogs, polish sausage and a beef in the bag and I couldn’t tell the difference without opening. There was a time you could tell which was which my size and weight. That time has past.
