The burgers and the Italian Beef sandwich did not disappoint! The cheese sauce with the Italian beef was chefs kiss. All of the onion rings and the fries were perfectly cooked.
This all made for a unique and flavorful dining experience.
Straight from the Chi! Where me and my family is from! Portillo’s was our all time favorites. When we lived in Chicago, there was not one time we went to order food that we ever had a bad experience. THEY ARE ALWAYS ON POINT. Now that they expanded and decided to put their restaurants in the DFW area, we can now get the best food here opposed to going home. Don’t get me wrong.. TX has a lot of food that’s great. But for anyone that comes from 60644 knows Chicago Food is hands down . Portillo’s brought the same great flavor on them Italian beefs. Any real Chicago people know the lingo, Italian beef, dipped with cheese, hot peppers and order some fries and a Peach Faygo!! Too bad they do not carry that pop . The Polish!! Maxwell of course! The burgers! The Shakes, desserts, the atmosphere, the friendly customer service, like I can go on and on about this place. Thank you Portillo’s for making the best decision by coming South!! Hope the other Franchises decides to do the same. For all of you newbies that has not been out to Portillo’s, what cha waiting fa?!? Get yo tail to one of the restaurants near you. Drop your comments to let me know what cha think. I would have added my pic but honestly, I maxed (ate all) my food soon as I got home . Oh 1 more thing, they close at 12 am!! As always, Until next review be safe out there
Sunday, January 18, 2026-Every single time I come to this location’s drive-thru, something about my order is always wrong. Every single time. Tonight, I ordered a regular hamburger with mustard and pickles only. But low and behold they give me a side of one pickle spear. The receipt is correct reflecting pickle chip but they gave me a spear on the side. Like how do you mess something so simple, up? I go to the Grapevine location 3-4 times a month. They have never messed up an order. Ever. But this location, 100% of the time since they opened, in the drive-thru. The one thing they do a good job on is apologizing and correcting the mistake. Once they gave me a full refund and replaced my order. I just did not have the energy to go back through the line again.
I thought the hotdogs was bland no taste. My chili and hotdogs at home way more taste. Nothing special about the fries or onion rings.
Very disappointed. Better food cooking at homes.
In the future, just cook at home. At least I know my hotdogs have taste and my chili is way better.
Anyone that brags on this food doesn’t know much about cooking.
Won’t be back again, I will spend my money elsewhere.
We ordered the Chili Cheese Dog and the Char-Grilled Italian Sausage — both were good! The Italian sausage came on great bread and we added hot peppers, which gave it a nice kick. The hot dogs were tasty, though not mind-blowing — solid, but not the best we’ve ever had.
We also tried the onion rings, which were hands down the best part of the meal — crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Definitely a 5-star item. Tried a slice of their cake too, which was good — rich and satisfying.
Pricing sits somewhere between fast food and casual dining. The food was served hot and fresh, which we appreciated. The only downside: they only offer ketchup and mustard by default. If you want anything else, you have to pay extra. We paid $0.89 for a side of giardiniera sauce and it was just okay. At their price point, it feels like they should include at least a couple of sauce options.
Overall: great vibe, good dogs, amazing onion rings. Would definitely come back — especially for those rings!
