I will return and do recommend.
Tried the spicy chicken sandwich and it was delicious. If you like spicy I will say it wasn’t, but it was a huge crispy chicken breast. I do recommend it.
At entry you order your own or there’s also an option with a cashier. Although I chose the self order, ordering with someone would be my choice next time. Lots of menu options and overall a large place. Loved the decor and how clean the restaurant was.
Burger and Italian beef were delicious. The Italian beef was just like I remembered in Chicago, I did add cheese.
Great experience, wonderful food, will def return.
Umm… close enough, I suppose. Truthfully, eating at Portillo’s in Chicago just hits differently—but this Arlington, Texas location comes pretty close!
It was almost 9 PM when I arrived, and while the dining area was quiet, the kitchen looked busy—probably cranking out drive-thru and delivery orders.
I ordered the Italian beef sandwich with sweet and hot peppers, slightly wet.
1. The bread was just the right amount of wet with a firm crunch—yummy!
2. The meat was soft, juicy, and flavorful. Some say it lacks flavor, but I disagree. Paired with the peppers and bread, it’s a winner.
3. The crinkle-cut fries were fine—nothing special, but I didn’t come for the fries anyway.
On a personal note, I recently gave up Coca-Cola and was tempted to order one with my sandwich. I resisted and went with unsweetened tea instead (boring, I know).
The restaurant is spacious with larger-than-usual tables—great for big groups or families. They offer high chairs, too. I love the Route 66 gas station–style decor, though the elevator music was a bit of a mood killer.
Come check it out for yourself—I think you’ll like it.
