We have used Porter Road for 6yrs and have found them to be overall great to deal with either at the store (now closed) or online. They really respect the tradition and the way the meat is raised and butchered. All the meats are excellent, even the chicken. Ignore any trivial complaints that are posted on Google.

I ordered a variety of items to try them out. The chicken was, well, chicken. I prepared it in such a way as to let the product stand out for itself (baked with salt and pepper only). It was good, not sure it was extra pricey good. I also ordered the beef ribs. I will be preparing them this week with the same simple seasoning, again, with the intent of letting the meat shine for its own greatness. Two comments before I even get to cooking them. The first is the label says “English Short Ribs”. They are not English cut, they are Flanken cut. This isn’t that big a deal because they just say “Short Ribs” on the website so it’s not misleading, but when I read the label it created the expectation that what was inside was what the label said. The second, and more significant, concern is the pictures on the Porter Road website show a nice, meaty marbled beef rib. The ones i received are easily 50% fat, including one section running through the middle that is about 3/4″ thick. I know meat is unique to each animal and fat distribution within a cut varies greatly from one animal to another and one part of an animal to another, but maybe include in the photo one great looking marbled rib and one like the two I received. At least it sets a more realistic expectation. If the cooked product knocks my socks off, I’ll certainly update this review to clear up the negative parts. Time will tell.

I received your $100 assorted meat assortment as a Father’s Day Gift from my son and his family. I carefully checked the box for food handling directions , and found none. Why didn’t the package come with instructions as to how long the meat would last, unfrozen in the refrigerator?
By the time I checked your website for this information, it was too late. I had to throw out 2/3 of the order. I found this very upsetting because I absolutely hate to waste food. Needless to say, this experience with your company has been vey disappointing.

Received my first & more to come orders. Great green packing. ( ithe form cooler dissolved quicky.) thank you for reusable ice packs.. Was definitely frozen all the way . Ormond Beach, FL… 5 ⭐️ just for that —no waste. . We ate the breakfast sausge . So tasteful. Still have 2 pork loins & 1 chicken . . 10 Stars ⭐️ . Send me more promos lol.
