I’ve visited Porta multiple times for different occasions: events, live music, late-night drinks, and casual dinners. The service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is – a bit slower when the place is packed, but great when it’s less crowded. The wood fired pizza is decent, and I love the fun variety of options, but the crust can sometimes be a little floppy. What really stole the show during my most recent visit was the creamy tomato risotto – wow. It was absolutely delicious, with some of the most flavorful, juiciest, roasted tomatoes I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be back for that dish and to keep exploring more of the menu.

Went here with my girlfriends and had an absolute blast! Our server Alexis was spot on and super attentive. The vibe and music inside is also fun. The food was delish of course, definitely recommend the Betty Pie pizza and Tiramisu!

We attended Porta Montclair’s Noon Year’s Eve party for families with young children. The atmosphere was nice and festive, and it was great to see an event geared toward families.
The food situation, however, was very chaotic. Ordering was required, and the wait time for food was extremely long due to the volume of orders. Better organization and flow would really improve the experience during large events like this. That said, the pizza itself was good once it arrived.
One disappointment was the advertisement that kids ate for free, which was not the case when we got there. That was confusing and frustrating. Additionally, the gelato was $8 for what was literally one very small scoop, which felt like a rip-off for the price.
Overall, the atmosphere was enjoyable and the food quality was good, but clearer communication and better organization would make family events like this much better.

This is the best pizza I’ve tried in NJ. The place is very nice , although I would say it’s more for larger groups – a bit too loud for date night. The service is great and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend if you want to try a nice wood fire pizza.

We had our wedding at Porta Montclair, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. From start to finish, the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Our event coordinator, Brielle, was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond in every way, helping us plan the perfect menu, staying on top of every detail, and offering thoughtful suggestions that made the entire process so much smoother.
The food was flat out amazing. Our guests are still talking about how good everything was! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the entire staff made us feel completely at home.
No wedding day is ever 100% perfect, you just can’t account for every little thing. But thanks to Brielle and the amazing team at Porta, ours came as close as it gets. We’re so grateful to have chosen Porta for such an important moment in our lives.

Found Porta by accident thanks to an IG algorithm! They collaborated with Korn/SOAD to make a special menu for the concerts at MetLife stadium 8/27 and 8/28. This menu was BRILLIANT! Our server Brittany was awesome! She listened to me babble about how excited I was for the concert, and went to the extent of creating a K on my dessert!!! Top notch place!! Actually, every staff member we encountered were absolutely welcoming, and also seemed excited about the special menu!! Thank you to the creators of this!!! Def heading back to Jersey another time for some fun because Porta actually has some awesome events! (We missed an Adam Sandler look a like contest!!) Great Exp!! Thank you again!
