Port City Java has been waking up Wilmington, NC since 1995. Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, our first café quickly became a hub for coffee lovers in the community. Our admittedly simple goals were to bring great, fresh-roasted coffee to our neighbors with the help of a charming but ever mischievous 15-kilo Ambex roaster. Port City Java has evolved and grown to operate over 30 cafes as well as its own bakery, roastery and distribution center since then. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Coffeehouse chain with house-roasted, organic java, plus breakfast items, sandwiches & baked goods.

This little coffee shop doesn’t look like much on the outside, but inside it is super cute and has great drinks. It is a cute coffee shop to just spend an hour or so relaxing in the adorable atmosphere. Highly recommend the strawberry mango smoothie. It has the right amount of sweet and sour.

Second time in here. Went during the 8 o’ clock hour, a few people inside but the drive thru was busiest. Was greeted right away and seen/served very quickly. I had a perfect hot chai tea latte and a bagel with cream cheese. A lovely Valentines Day pick me up. Very clean and cozy. Bathroom is clean which is also nice. Definitely will be back for this inviting coffee shop vibe.

The location doesn’t look the nicest outside, but it is really nice and well decorated inside. There was plenty of seating and the staff were very friendly. The coffee also tasted great. My wife got the Hazelnut Latte and I got the Chai Tea Latte.

Cute and quiet place. Nice selection of drinks and food. Loved the mocha chino but wished my apricot tea had more syrup. Didn’t care for the chicken in my wrap so I think I’ll stick to the vegetarian option for sure. Muffin was good. Would come again.

I love the laid back, relaxing atmosphere at Port City Java. It’s located right next to the river, and there’s plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. There’s also a drive thru option if you aren’t looking to sit down and stay a while. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My drink was so delicious! My wrap was just ok, but I was mainly there for the coffee anyway.

Was told about this place at another business in the area, so we went over to get an afternoon cup of coffee. They were not busy at all, and when we walked in, no one came up to help us. We stood there for several minutes, and could see employees in the back, but they never walked up front to take our order. So we went across the street to Blend Cafe and they were amazing. Excellent service and amazing coffee there. I would recommend you skip Port City Java, and go across the street to Blend Cafe!

I love Port City Java. This location isn’t my favorite. It’s usually very busy and slow and the use of the seating area makes seats limited… Like do we really need the couches?

My wife and I enjoy this place for a Saturday morning or just a quick run. My wife loves the baked goods, whether they’re in-house baked or outsourced, they’re top dollar based on her opinion. I myself enjoy the wraps and build-yourself sandwiches. I’ve had their medium and dark roast, respectively, and they’re good, difficult to mess up plain black coffee; great grind. Their iced coffee is wonderful, between the lattes, au lait, and everything in the middle, with accomodating plant based add-ins also, there’s nothing really amiss about this place. the staff are friendly, if you happen to walk in, it’s very clean and the setup is humble and inviting. you really aren’t going to regret spending less for more supporting a Carolina business.

I think this is the best coffee shop in Jacksonville! The manager provided me with great solutions when they didn’t have my go-to coffee brewing, and when I had a small issue with the coffee, fixed the problem efficiently and quickly. So grateful for them!

Coffee is delicious, bagels are different and slightly doughy but so good. Employees are very helpful and provide recommendations. The store is clean every time we go. Indoor and outdoor seating.
