Only shop open at 7 am on Front Street – thank you! Nice selection of espresso and tea drinks, as well as pastries, breakfast sandwiches and smoothies…

Very nice coffee shop with a wonderful atmosphere and decor. The service was okay, and the coffee was great. It just took awhile for my flat white (more than 20 minutes), quite a simple drink, to be prepared. My family got their drinks well before I did, and the flat white tasted like a latte. The customers inside seemed to be particularly unaware of their surroundings, which was quite unfortunate.

I’m so disappointed in the managers disruptive outburst. Enjoying my coffee in a calm environment is of the upmost importance to me. Witnessing the manager of one of my favorite coffee shops down town berate an excellent employee was the low point of my day. I’ve been in a few times after this incident and the environment has been completely disrupted. I now hear Jackson has QUIT. I’m so upset with the management and how this incident was dealt with… or lack there of. Do better.

This is a very nice coffee shop to sit down. Nice decorations. Lots of mini plants. I liked it’s vintage and refreshing at the same time. Coffee was great too. It also has a book reading area for people who want to stay longer. It’s relatively quiet compared to other coffee shops so you can actually read in peace.

Relaxed atmosphere. I had their hot honey chicken on ciabatta and a low acidity Black Mountain organic brewed coffee to balance it out. Both were delicious! My friend had an egg and cheese croissant and a flavored coffee that she was was “great!” Would definitely return. Fantastic location

Very clean and nice inside. Conveniently located on Front Street. Iced latte was very good and the service was pleasant. Bacon, egg and cheese bagel was outstanding. Plenty of seating inside as well. I would highly recommend giving them a shot. A+++++++++

I am an regular customer at 21a-n.front pcjava. Along with coffee, I enjoy the friendly staff. I am disappointed that Lillian has been transferred. Part of what makes a place attractive to me is that I’m recognized and feel welcome. Like “Cheers”. It’s not just transactional, it’s real human interaction. It’s personal.
I also hope the newspaper rack returns. When I sit down, I enjoy reading the Wilmington Business Journal, or Wilma magazine. Hope these will continue to be available. It’s just a touch that shows human concern for customer comfort.
Part of what I likeable this location is it’s casual atmosphere. Feeling welcome is important to me. This is fast disappearing in our corporate economy.

The five stars are exclusively for the staff only. They’re highly skilled at what they do and I always appreciate everyone there. However, they are ALWAYS exhausted. I see this as an upper management issue and as much as the baristas deserve all the money, I will not support a business that isn’t properly caring about the health and well being of their employees.
These are wonderful people who deserve the best and they are clearly not getting the support they need. To upper management: tighten up and do better. Working with the public is hard enough as it is. And do NOT chew anyone out for being an imperfect/tired human being.
Do right by them, because that’s what they do for every guest that walks through that damn door.
Thank you.

I have been a regular at the downtown port city Java for years and I have NEVER seen a manager treating an employee like this… I came in today and while ordering a drink, I witnessed one of the baristas getting yelled at by their manager out in the cafe. This was a disruptive display and I’m now doubting my frequenting of the store… heart goes out to the employees who should be treated better than this.

See these everywhere and decided to stop by. The espresso shake was amazing. The service was extremely fast and the staff was very friendly and all were following Covid protocols. The staff was all working together and doing a lot of work. The place was great to do people watching from the windows.
