Excellent spot to sit and enjoy a drink! Friendly staff and patrons. The swing chairs are a great concept in lieu of bar stools! There’s also a drive-thru li e to pick-up cases of beer for the beach! This will definitely become a daily spot when we’re in town.

Port A beer Hut aka “The Swing Bar” has swing chairs around the bar with additional swings on the cover at the back of the bar. Everyone is always friendly. The bartenders know how to make a good drink. The atmosphere is always fun and relaxing. Typically on Saturday nights they will have music. Also there is The Food Hut. With your basic stuff like hamburgers, chili boats, and chicken sandwiches. The menu is always changing, but she keeps a lot of the basics on the menu. There is typically a daily special as well.

What a great time! We loved the swings and the bartenders were entertaining. I wish they didn’t allow smoking under the hut/bar because the smoke doesn’t leave. I had to call it quits after the 5th person started smoking.

Tiki bar with swing seating – love it! Nothing like drinking a margarita or Mermaid’s Tail while swinging to make you feel like you’re on vacation. Great selection of frozen drinks, cocktails on the rocks, and beer. Friendly service! Also, drive thru drink option for your vehicle or golf cart! How fun is that. Always a must when we stop in Port A.

The owners are amazing people. I accidentally dropped my debit card through the cracks on the wooden deck, and they pulled up a board to get it out for me! Truly above and beyond, great customer service. Atmosphere is very relaxed, and they have local beers on tap. Love this place!

Disappointed, “Rude Red,” the bartender was not welcoming. We watched several customers be ignored. But what really made us feel sad was when a woman about 70 years old ordered 4 frozen drinks, and he had her carry them by herself in a flimsy cardboard drink container. When she paid, he banged his glass tip jar on the bar several times, yet watched her struggle to carry the drink to her friends. She was trying to tip, but he was not patient with her. So after she safely delivered all four drinks, she returned with a tip. We will not go back. We have been here several times throughout the year and he is a greeefy hustler. He is abrasive and does not give Texas Hospitality a good rap, and for that matter, he does not embody the spirit of Texas.

The atmosphere has changed drastically and wish the owners and the people who ran it were the same. It feels like more of a corporate ran business rather than a loving island bar.
