Excellent food, friendly service, seems like a local favorite! I got the three meat combo with sausage, pulled pork, and turkey. Sides of dirty potatoes and mac & cheese with some garlic toast. All were extremely good! Good Southern cooking!

I ordered the daily special which consist of the pulled pork 2 sides and a drink. My 2 sides was cornbread and collard greens. My order was for togo. This was my first time getting food from here. The cashier was very nice. Well my pulled pork sandwich meat was room temp the sandwich bun bottom was hard. My cornbread was wrapped in foil and very cold as it it came straight from fridge the foil was stuck to the top of bread. The collar greens had a great temperature but we’re very bland. No taste at all. The sweet tea was decent. Will I return? No! Will I recommend to friends? NO!

The reviews were true. Food was good served by a smiling waitress. Nothing fancy, country music, chairs and tables. You have to order/pay, get your soda/water and seat to wait for your food.
The ribs were juicy, tender and tasty. The mac&cheese was a little dry, the french fries were good, and the garlic bread was a little bit burned to my taste, but my better half loved it.

Traveling for work and wanted to try some local food. Man this place knocked it out of the park. Got the pulled pork and sausage with dirty taters. Best damn sausage i’ve had in awhile. good and crispy on the outside sauces are really good not sure if they’re home made or not but they’re really flavorful even the hottest one

Fantastic BBQ. We had a bunch of different items from their menu. Pulled pork, massive ribs and smoked turkey were all delicious. Lots of side dishes. Mac n cheese delicious. I had the smoked turkey platter, it was great. I was actually surprised how tender and favorable the turkey was. It was juicy and soft it didn’t stand a chance on my fork.

Ate at Porkies for the first time tonight, mostly due to location as I was in the area and looking to try a BBQ place I had not been to before. There were both good and bad things about it:

GOOD:
Atmosphere – Porkies looks like a converted 7-11 of yesteryear but it’s in a prime location and easy to get to. The decor of the restaurant is great and certainly suitable for a family setting.

Staff – The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the food they were serving. The woman who took my order recommended the dirty taters for a side and they did not disappoint.

Sides: I had the dirty taters and the baked beans, both of which were great and suitable for just about any southern BBQ meal.

BBQ Sauce: Porkies has quite a few different sauces to choose from, all of which were good. The sweet hot was probably my favorite with the Carolina Red coming in 2nd place. The Carolina red was pretty thin in body – if it were a bit thicker, it could really be a great sauce.

BAD:
Brisket: Unfortunately the meat just didn’t cut it. The brisket I had was bland and required a LOT of sauce to give it some flavor. I’m actually hesitant to call it brisket at all as it really had the texture of a roast. It’s not really clear to me what Porkies’ cooking method is but if it’s smoked, you couldn’t tell.

Sausage: Again, if it’s smoked, you couldn’t tell. The flavor was alright but just alright.

Porkies was $24 for 2 meats, 2 sides, and a drink. That’s a lot of money but it’s also a lot of food, which definitely works in their favor. Would I come back? Maybe…but I’d try something different.
