Stopped in for lunch and had the Del Ray special, pulled pork sandwich, collards on the side. The pork was perfectly good but not standout. Great collards. I tried the spicy bbq sauce and the mustard and thought both were great. Overall good lunch deal and I’d like to go back to try the pork nachos.

Strolling thru Del Ray I could not resist the smell of BBQ so I stopped in. It was really active bar/restaurant being its a Saturday afternoon. But I’m here for BBQ so I head to the ordering counter. Let’s try a 1/2 dry rub rack ribs, small Mac n Cheese, and small Collard Greens. I didn’t care for the soft drink options so it was a hard pass. Bar was crowded because they have several TVs featuring sports so couldn’t get a beer without elbowing my way thru people. So I found a small booth so I could at least try the food. ITEM 1:: Right away, the Mac n Cheese was not for me — it was runny cheese (as if they added water to keep it warm) and the pasta swirls were overcooked. I put the top on the container thinking if it sat a moment it would set by the time I got it home. Nope!! It was simply no salvaging it so it was immediately trashed. ITEM 2:: The collard greens were okay eating in the restaurant. They were slightly overcooked, you could taste the so-called pinch of sugar, and you can taste the vinegar. The greens are edible if you put hot sauce on them to help along. I put the greens in a category of when your momma don’t know how to cook greens and it’s her first time doing it — yeah, that level of greens. I put the top on the greens to see if they too would settle by the time I got them home. Nope!! By the time I got home the vinegar juice separated from the greens and were not appealing. ITEM 3:: The pork ribs tasted good as I ate 4 of them at the restaurant while trying the different BBQ flavors. Of the 5 BBQ Sauces I liked the consistency and taste of the Spicy BBQ. I packed the rest of the ribs to see how they’d taste when i got home. I don’t know what happened but them being wrapped and opened several hours later for dinner made them taste DRY. Perhaps the food at this place is not meant for carry-out to eat hours later. I was stupified how the ribs tasted dry. Also I noticed how much water I drank all night after eating this food, and I had an awful sweet tooth. However this place brine or smoke their ribs took took my thirst and sweet tooth to another level. It’s bar-style BBQ designed to make you eat and drink more — to make you overindulge while sitting in their bar and restaurant— not really to eat and enjoy. I hate to waste the food you see in the photo but it really wasted when I first tasted it in the restaurant. Oh well, it’s not food for me. I could see returning to have beer at the bar to watch sports — that’s it, nothing more.

Gave the restaurant a try the other day and sadly the quality doesn’t stand up to competition in the area. The Goldie sandwich was pretty good, but the brisket was rather dry. I went to use the barbecue sauces, but they should really have a disclaimer that they are a vinegar shop because literally every flavor they offer Tasted like it was infused with too much vinegar. Additionally, we got the monster mac & cheese, and at no time on the menu does it tell you that it is spicy and it’s very spicy with the jalapeños that were pickled inside of it. I couldn’t even add barbecue sauce to it because the vinegar doesn’t do anything with the heat. They didn’t even have another Mac option as a side, which was rather disappointing. Might consider trying again in the future, but this was a total miss.

The fries are FIRE (so crispy and just a touch of seasoning) and I love how you can help yourself to a variety of tasty dipping sauces. I had the falafel burger, so good!

Table service is available at the bar. Counter service for the rest of the restaurant. They have great prices for happy hour and the place was pretty packed with a mix of families and people enjoying drinks. Very nice atmosphere and great service at the bar. Food is pretty good, bbq tacos and nachos hit nicely; chicken wings were a bit overcooked.

Both of us had the two meat meal. The pulled pork and brisket were delicious although my brisket was a little fatty. The greens, potato salad and Coleslaw were good. The macaroni and cheese was a little spicy for me and different. The sauce was very liquid. All in all this was a good experience and Miguel was great!! We will be back!

Good to above average bbq. Lousy customer service.

Just ordered the 3 meat platter with two sides. The asked the person working the counter which is better :Brisket or burnt ends.

Said Burnt ends sell out so I selected that for a $2.95 up charge. The guy taking the order wearing a hat seemed like he didn’t want to be bothered anyway.

Got home and to my surprise the burnt ends that I paid the additional money for warrant in the bag. Instead it was sliced turkey. I called three times and got voicemail three times. I almost decided not to go back to the store but I was getting hot at this point and decided to drive back. I got into the restaurant and spoke to the young hispanic guy and explained that the order was wrong. He spoke to the woman in Spanish she went and measured out some burnt ends . And get this it was one or two pieces over I guess what should be a quarter pound which she removed. You would think customer service would say leave the little extra or even give me more for my trouble. Or even offer a side or something. But nope she just wanted to be exact and give me a quarter pound. So because of this lack of customer service not trying to rectify an order beyond the exact measurement I’m giving it very low ratings for service.

I couldn’t really stomach a full bbq plate so ordered something lighter, which was their hot honey chicken and rice bowl. What a mistake. It was so bland and flavors were underwhelming, but I ate it anyways just so it wouldn’t go to waste. 3* just because I’m hoping the mistake was what I ordered and not a reflection of their food in general.

I ordered the grilled brisket and cheese. They only used one slice of cheese and it’s not melted it was supposed to have crispy onions, no onions and not grilled. Might have been good if it was what it was supposed to be. Brisket was ok wasn’t hot though.

Always enjoy trips here. The food is always solid. Staff are friendly. And the place is clean. The setting is great for hanging out with friends. There’s some free parking in the back or street parking outside the restaurant on the main road. Everything I’ve had has been good. Since they’re expanding into bowls, my wife, son, and I tried them. I went with the churrasco bowl and a cup of kickin’ brisket chili, my wife the Hawaiian, and son the chicken adobo; all were very good.

Love this place. The BBQ is so good and the prices are so reasonable. The setting is very casual so you can enjoy good food with family and friends. Service is a cashier where you place your order, but always friendly. This last time my wife and I had the brisket grilled cheese with smoked cream corn while my son had the nachos.

I think the food here is fantastic. Everything I’ve tried has been great. The flavors are on point. For service, you’re going to order at the counter (fast food style) and wait for your order to be called, but the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is very casual (again, similar to fast food) but for “fast food”, you’re getting a ton of flavor at a great price. This last go around I tried the chipotle chicken wrap and baked beans. The chicken had tremendous flavor and I loved the French fried straw onions to add a little crunchy texture. The beans were slightly on the sweet side but still very good. My wife and son both tried the special, a brisket grilled cheese, which they really enjoyed. My wife also took slices of her cucumber salad and added it to her brisket grilled cheese for crunch and a different flavor profile. She said it really worked.

Amazing! While there’s street parking available, you’re better off parking behind the restaurant in their parking lot, and it’s free. When going in, plan to order at the counter and get seated. Meaning plan on a casual meal, but enjoyable. Plan on what i think is some of the best BBQ in the area, and for very reasonable prices. Even better. I had the Cowboy Cuban, which was great (and my wife loved most). My wife had the brisket sandwich (which was my favorite). And son the Redneck burrito (also delicious). Bottom line, everything was amazingly delicious.
