I went on the recommendation of two friends. I was not disappointed. Omg the captain on Neapolitan crust is everything! It’s a little sweet and little salty and totally delicious. Thank goodness our book club is making this “our spot”

While staying in town our family came here after seeing the reviews online and was so excited. Unfortunately we was let down. We ordered a poppyroni and a captain. The captain was pretty good. The other one was dry. Hardly any sauce and cheese. When we opened the box be could see the crust mostly, was not cheesey like all the reviews we seen. If you get anything get the captain.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with smiling faces and the wonderful aroma of dough, fire, and a good pie! The menu is as simple as it gets, with 2 variations of crust: Neapolitan and/or a thick Detroit-style crust. We went in just to browse but decided to place an order because of the wonderful staff, and why not? Who wouldn’t love a pie later in the day?
After 15 minutes of ‘I can’t decide,’ I finally asked what the most popular pizza was and went with that. The Captain pizza with Neapolitan crust (thin crust) was perfect! Maybe I’ll give Detroit-style a try on another cheat day. 😮
After 15-20 minutes, the pie was done, and it looked incredible. You get this sweet, salty, charred bite from the pizza and then pockets of cheese!! It was to die for, and I definitely see why it’s a signature! Give this place a go. It’s definitely worth the drive from Madison. Thank you, guys, and keep up the great work!

I’m extremely picky when it comes to pizza. I’m from New York City, and I’ve had a very difficult time finding good pizza in Jackson. I have to say this place is the best I’ve had so far. They have good thin crust pizza with the right amount of cheese (not overloaded with cheese, which ruins it), and the sauce is a good flavor. Quality pizza spot.

The pizzas are delicious! It was ready when promised and piping hot! We went next door to eat and listen to music. The pizza was sooo good! We’ve been back several times since and our pizza has always been great! Staff is friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend the pizza! The crust was sooo great. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve had a lot of pizza in the Jackson metro area, but Poppy Pies is hands down the best. The Captain and The Burrata are our personal favorites, but we’ve never had a bad pizza from Poppy Pies. Keep a lookout for the Mexican Street Corn pizza—it isn’t always on the menu but we always go out of our way to make sure to get it when it’s available. The handmade dough is always cooked to perfection and the sauce and toppings are always really consistent and balanced. Service is always great and super fast and the new frozen drink options are fantastic. This family run restaurant is a gem and a must-visit spot if you’re in Jackson.

Excellent, especially their big Sunday pies. If you’re into extra cheesy, saucy pizza like the big delivery brands… This may not be for you. However, if you love a smokey, crispy brick oven pizza… You’ll love Poppy Pies.

Ordered two pizzas to try both styles and different pies. The pizzas barely made it on the drive home, they are just THAT good (shared with spouse). Poppy Pie’s has cemented its place in rotation when we don’t feel like cooking or one of us works late. We recommend The Captain Pizza – Neapolitan style 100%. Probably the best pizza I’ve ever had in Mississippi, let alone Jackson. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
