This place has delicious food, good drinks, and a nice atmosphere! We came early in the evening so our server was also the bar attendant and she did an awesome job! I can’t get over how good the alfredo pasta + chicken was and my husband had a mexican dish, chicken chili verde, and he loved that! We were just visiting from out of town and definitely would recommend. One thing to know is the only 21+ is allowed at they do check your ID at the front of the bar.

Amazing food. Great place to chill, and grab some food and drinks before your night out on the town. Their pizza is especially excellent!! Cheese fries are also insane. If you are from out of town then definitely try the SLC local tradition of a pastrami burger.

You can have a good experience at a lot of bars, but this bar has been the most consistent in my view.
Has every interaction been good?
No, but every visit has yielded at least some good interactions. These people are friendly, cool and down-to-earth. This isn’t a noisy club or a swanky cocktail bar, and it’s not a grumpy dive either. It’s got pool tables, it’s got daily specials, it’s got food and it’s got character, but it’s not mean and it’s not superficial. As long as you aren’t rude, violent or entitled, you can have a good time.

A friend of mine and I went there for dinner during a convention. The food was really good, our server was wonderful. I’m not a beer guy, but my friend is, and the server was very well informed and helpful about the selection. The burgers are really good, beer selection is impressive, staff was fantastic. Next time I’m out that way, I’m going to try and go there again.

Last night I came into the bar, when I was at the entry, the bouncer’s (one female and one male), turned me down. The female bouncer threatened to take my ID and destroy it. If that was the case, I would not even be able to drive because my ID is 100% real and not fake! It would be absolutely horrible for my identification card to be destroyed by the Poplar bouncer. Then the male bouncer said there was three markers on my ID that deem it as fake. When I asked what the markers were, they said they had the right not to tell me. I just wanted to know so I can go to the DMV to get it looked at. When I told them for the last time that the ID was real, they laughed in my face. I’ve never felt so degraded and disrespected. It just could have been handled better. You don’t treat any human like that. Ever. They could have explained it differently. If it was fake, why would I be defending myself this much?? If it was fake, I would’ve bolted out the door and not try to argue with it. They also denied my other friends after. Who are also 21 and over! I would estimate that they lost a lot of business from that. Over twenty people left from that. At the end of the day, I just hope they get better training because they don’t even what an ID card looks like.

We have our annuals at Poplar, and there’s no better place to be. Every year we get great service from the servers and bartenders! Our last outing was with their server Taylor, who was incredible at managing so many of us at once. The bartenders on Jan 4 were also amazing!

This place never disappoints!! We stopped in before the Utes football game to have a few drinks. The outdoor patio is perfect, and the service was great. They were extremely understaffed but told us that at the door so we were expecting that. Their food is also amazing, and large portions. We will be back!

From the very first time we walked into this pub my hubby and I simply adored Chanel,Taylor & Lauren! They’re e a great team. The Food, the service, the atmosphere and hospitality has always been top notch when we visit. We like to sit at the upstairs bar, And enjoy an appetizer, drinks , the music and company. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
