I wanted to try the Blackened Chicken wrap. They had no lettuce and I was ok with that. The flavor ok. But I absolutely would call it a wrap. More like tiny chicken breast burrito my 10 y.o. nephew could microwave. That came to mind while I was waiting for my burrito. Plus its drenched in sauce. Overall horrible experience.

Maybe because our community lacks spicy options – I’ve given this place more attempts at getting things right then I should have but service sucks, food sucks, atmosphere and cleanliness all are subpar. I used the word suck because it’s a more commonly understood word. I’m prepared to make clear to the community that this is not a place to spend your money.
I initially ordered a surf and turf – we don’t have it – the special ended today;
Then I ordered boneless wings and a biscuit and they got it wrong. That’s ok. I went back in and the manager walks out to tell me, we could hardly hear you, and then that I should have confirmed the selection on the screen.
Which one was it – I spoke too softly – your microphones are bad, or you just got it wrong.
How about we got it wrong and here you go…

I used to thoroughly enjoy this location! Food was always hot, customer service was perfect, and they never got my order wrong. However, recently management has changed and everything has gone downhill since then. My order is wrong about 85% of the time, and the manager always has an attitude and constantly makes “slick” or passive aggressive comments. I get that it isn’t an ideal job, but you don’t need to be miserable everyday! I believe this location can turn things around if they really put in the effort, but for now, it’s just a mess.

This particular popeye’s chicken. It does make good food and I don’t believe they’re particularly dirty either. But what I will say are some of the staff that work there are exceedingly rude. There is one they. That works there who gets really upset with you? If you stand by the counter and watch them, prepare your meal. Which I do not understand why.But other than the small hiccups, with the transvestite behind the counter, the food in atmosphere is acceptable.It’s good

My parents had taken my debit card here to grab me some food (I live in Magalia). They ordered the hot ones meal combo for me, and I guess they were out of something, like the special ranch cups I guess. So the gentleman working the register suggested some ghost pepper wings? Anyways, they were straight fire. Great kick, good crunch, and even better flavor. First time having popeyes, but if my food tastes like that each time, don’t think I’ll be going to KFC anymore.

Every time I go to Popeyes in Chico California, I’m reminded why I hate to go to Popeyes. The Chico store is notorious for bait and switch advertising. In the past they advertised ‘ghost pepper chicken wings’. I had purchased some (2 or 3times) and commented to the worker that they weren’t very spicy, as I had expected ghost pepper to be. She stated that they had changed vendors and couldn’t get ghost pepper seasoning. The “ghost pepper” wings were just the regular spicy wings despite in store and outside signage touting ghost pepper. Today, I ordered the “red stick combo”. Even though the in-store advertisement show a photo of a soda with the combo, I was told the soda was extra. When I got the order the red sticks were tiny. Not your small, but super small…and most of that was batter. Very little of that was chicken. See photos. I won’t go back to the Chico location, until next time I do. And I’m sure to be disappointed. Again.

The chicken tenders had too much breading but were cooked well. They use strips of white meat. The signature sauce is good. Lots of shady spots to park in lot too.

Went for a quick bite. Tried the blackened chicken tenders for the first time. It was not bad. It was for sure different and good. But I myself think I’d prefer the spicy crispy tenders instead. The rest of the meal was great. They have caffeine free diet coke!
