I’m not one to usually do this, but I feel like I should post this about our experience with Popeyes. We laid my grandfather to rest today and were trying to feed approximately 25 people.
This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time.
We were initially shorted an entire box of chicken. After pointing it out, it was given to us. Once we got home, we discovered we were missing six side dishes from our order.
I called the restaurant and asked for the manager on duty. I spoke with a female manager, who did not apologize but told me the missing sides would be ready if we drove back to pick them up. So we did.
When we returned, instead of the same manager, a male manager was sent out to speak with us. His approach was immediately hostile and dismissive. When we asked for an apology for the repeated mistakes and inconvenience, he refused. He then aggressively threw food into containers, shoved them into bags, and told us to leave as if we were the problem.
It was especially concerning that after speaking with a female manager on the phone, a male manager was sent out to handle the situation in person, only to escalate it further. The decision to send out a different manager, combined with the tone and behavior we were met with, felt unnecessary and uncomfortable, especially given that the restaurant was correcting its own errors.
At no point did anyone take accountability. No apology. No concern for the wasted time, gas, or frustration caused by multiple mistakes. Mistakes happen… how a business handles them is what matters, and this was handled poorly from start to finish.
If management cannot model basic professionalism and courtesy, I can’t recommend this location. Customer service matters, and this experience was unacceptable.

Went for a quick bite for dinner. Ordered a flounder sandwich, chicken sandwich, and 6 piece wings. Chicken sandwich was good. Flounder was extremely over cooked and dry and the wings were WAY over sauced. I tried to call the restaurant but it said the phone was out of service. I called a different location to get a phone number for someone I could speak with. They gave me the number to the area manager. I have yet to hear back from her.
UPDATE..Still no call from area manager. Been a little over a week.

This place is only good 50% of the time. We always get takeout and if you don’t check your package while you’re there, you never get your food order is never correct.It’s very sad when people have no pride in the work they perform. They need much more training than what they are provided.

Ordered a 8 piece mixed chicken and they brought out an 8 piece chicken skin meal. There was absolutely no meat, nothing but floured crust. This is the WORST experience I’ve ever had eating chicken. Popeye should be tried for treason because this is the worse betrayal of delivered chicken. A complete rip off!!

We buy from them every week. We spend over $40 every time. Last week, it wasn’t good. The cook was eating while he cooked our meal. First of all, I thought that was unsanitary. The food was dry and in small portions. You would think the sides would be full as well. I’m sorry. We will be going somewhere else from now on. This has happened 2 times b4. 🙁 Tried again today. Everything was OK, except I didn’t get my biscuit!!!

Sat in the drive thru for 30 entire minutes with only a single car in front of me when I arrived, then when they finally brought the food out, all they gave me were my 2 chicken sandwiches, missing my fries and drink that I had to go inside to get. I didn’t even bother to ask for my apple pie that I didn’t receive either.

I have been a long time customer of the Popeyes in Rockport, Texas. The last several times the chicken has been overcooked or cold. I will try another Popeyes in a nearby town and will not return to the one in Rockport. I gave them several chances. DO NOT GO THERE
