My wife and I had a difficult experience here a few weeks ago where we had to wait almost 30 extra minutes for our mobile order – despite us being there right on time – because they hadn’t even put my wife’s chicken strips or our apple pies in to cook yet by the time we got there (for reference, we put in the order 45 minutes prior and had scheduled the pickup time specifically). When we had arrived, there were maybe 2 other people in total that were also waiting (1 in drive-thru, 1 inside), so waiting that long despite it being so slow was disheartening to say the very least.
However, we decided to try again and get food there again tonight, and unfortunately had another difficult experience.
My wife went to pick up our food and used a coupon to get 2 chicken sandwich meals for $13.99. This seemed like a great deal, and so I told her to get a 3 piece chicken strip as well, however the total came out to over $26. She had not been given a receipt by the employees, so when she went back inside and asked about the charge, they printed a receipt and pointed out that the chicken strips were over $10 on their own!
Then as she walked out of the restaurant, she heard the employees laughing at her for asking about the cost of the strips, which was very disappointing.
Upon getting home, we not only found that they gave us 2 chicken strips instead of 3 (photo attached, there was fried breading in there which is not the same as a chicken strip), but they also didn’t give us the mac & cheese side that we paid extra for, and instead gave us mashed potatoes.
After having worked in food retail for over a decade, I do understand delays, I understand mishaps, and I know that no one is perfect. But while the location looks nice inside and has a good atmosphere, it doesn’t seem like they have trained their employees very well, or they have but the employees don’t care. All in all, I think we might have to start driving the extra distance to Vernon Hills or Round Lake Beach, if we go to Popeyes anymore at all.

tldr: Don’t pull around the building when asked otherwise you’ll be stuck chasing your food 20 minutes later.
We stopped through the drive through and ordered some sandwiches. Pulled up to the window and paid and was told they were just dropping filets and it would be 4 minutes and they asked us to pull around the front of the building and they would bring our food out.
After waiting 15 minutes, I went into the store to see one employee actually working and frying chicken, one scrolling on his phone with gloves on over the food prep station, and the last planted on his rear end in front of the security camera monitors. Had to wait another 5 minutes for Mr. TicTok to finish our sandwiches. Would not recommend for a quick bite.

Went in for the first time after moving to Lake Zurich and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken sandwiches were hot and fresh. The order was exactly right, even with all our additions/substitutions and side items. Never tried the Mac and cheese before, it was really cheesy and the fries were good too. I don’t know what other people are complaining about but our experience was really good there tonight. Went inside to order and food was still hot when we got home, bonus!

Please don’t order catering unless you want to get half the food that you ordered. I ordered a catering tray of Mac and Cheese. The foil tray was filled half way to the top. It was meant to feed 20 people, it served 8. It was for Thanksgiving so there were many disappointed guests. I called the manager, he said that’s how much I train my people to make for a catering order. I ordered from another Popeyes the day before and received a whole tray where the Cheese melted to the lid. The manager at Lake Zurich also has poor customer service skills. Stay away from the restaurant. All the others are much better.

Came on a Friday afternoon and the service was top notch. Ate inside and the restaurant was very clean. Best Popeyes experience ever. We will be back! Bonus points for HOT and delicious chicken and biscuits.

Whoever is managing this location is doing a horrible job. We use to come to this one all the time. Last 2 times the ice tea tasted like corn water and the chicken had no flavor. Don’t go you will spend alot of money on horrible food. I normally dont leave reviews but last night dinner was uneatable.

We dined-in on a rainy evening. The entire staff was very polite, friendly and nice. There was also one of them that kept the whole place clean all the time we were there. Food was also prepared fresh and yummy. Excellent overall experience for our whole family. Highly recommended.

I got a spicy chicken sandwich and it was good but very sloppy and got all over the place. It was like the sauce was poured into the bag

Let me say I love fried chicken and Popeyes – this location was the most toxic location experience I’ve ever had at a Popeyes. Walked in to order food on a limited timeframe. Asked the lady manager with long brown hair if she had regular chicken tenders and the new pickle glaze sandwich ready. She replied yes to both. Since she replied yes, I wouldn’t have to wait that long or for the food to be fried. Five minutes go by the cook in the back dropped chicken tenders into the fryer – they weren’t ready. Four orders had been placed and filled before mine. During the next five minutes watched a male employee quit walk out on the job. Following his quitting, watched the female manager get verbally argumentative, piss, and lock the main entrance doors at 8:35pm. They don’t close until 10:00pm. Watched three more people walk in and she asked how they got in – she forgot to lock the back door. 15 minutes had now gone by and my order wasn’t even ready. I requested a refund. Stated I had asked her if both the tenders and pickle glaze sandwich were made – she said yes when in reality they weren’t. She could have stated we have to drop them allowing me the option to leave or order something different. Told her I was sorry she was having a bad day. She replied I had made it worse. Left with a refund. Will never return. The lady female manager really needs customer service training.

I come for the sides and the biscuits. However, these ghost pepper wings remind me of Popeyes old spicy, with a little more kick. I’ll be coming back for those
